• Day #132 Mongolia

    June 29, 2025 in Mongolia ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

    Last day in Mongolia.

We started with a visit to the Chinggis Khan Statue Complex, which is the largest equestrian statue in the world. There was a museum about Chinggis and the Mongolia empire, which was quite interesting. We tried on the traditional Mongolian costume too.

We then went to Gandan, which is the largest working monastery in Mongolia, with the 26 foot high Buddha.

After lunch, we had a walk around Ulaanbaatar and saw the main square with the parliament building and statue of Sukhbaatar, who was the leader of the Mongolian revolution of 1921.

We went to the Museum of Mongolian Natural History and Chinggis Khan Museums to learn more history.

We watched a cultural show, with some transitional singing and dancing, including throat singing. It was really good and the people were very talented.

We finished with the last dinner with Chuukki and Gana, before saying goodbye at the hotel.
