Day trip on a boat to Schooner Island, an hour and half sail from the mainland.
Great time snorkeling and seeing the coral and fish. So colourful.

Lazy morning today as travelled to Vanuatu this afternoon.
Checked in to the hotel and had dinner, before an early night.

Trip to the Blue Lagoon for a swim in the morning.
Then to a turtle sanctuary to swim with green sea turtles and then to a waterfall and cascades for another dip.

Easy day today due to rain and tiredness - travelling is catching up with us.
Went to the gym, then for lunch and some research for later on in the trip.

Long walk around Port Vila to the centre of town. Saw a lot of damage from the earthquake on December 17th 2024 and how the country is still rebuilding.

Hired a car for the day.
First stop was Pepeyo cultural village to learn about the traditional way of life, that the community still practices now.

Travel day today from Vanuatu to Samoa, via a brief stop in Fiji.
We wish they had Fanta Pineapple at home.

Lazy morning as we didn't arrive at the hotel until 3am.
Went for a walk around the capital, Apia.
Found a nice church and coastline.
Did get caught in a big rain downpour.

Hired a car today and visited places outside of Apia.

1. Piula Cave Pool
2. Lalomanu Beach
3. To Sua Ocean Trench
4. Sopo'aga Waterfall

Had an easy morning and then went to the giant clam sanctuary.
I didn't see any snorkelling (but Shaun did) but I did see lots of nice coral and colourful fish, including a massive blue shiny one. Czytaj więcej

Went on the ferry to the other island in Samoa (Savai'i) early in the morning.
Visited the Alofaaga blowholes and Afu Aau waterfall before ferry home.

Early flight to New Zealand, via Fiji.
Picked up the campervan and then went punting on the River Avon in Christchurch.
We might struggle with the amount of space in the van.

Early morning start to have a look around Christchurch.
Went for a walk around the botanical gardens and centre of town.
Then went to the Gondola to get great views of the area.

Long drive to Rohan/Edoras from Lord of the Rings. Short hike and then great views.
Then headed to Lake Tekapo for the night.

Started with a day time viewing of Lake Tekapo before driving to Lake Pukaki.

Continued the drive to Lake Tasman and did a short hike to the lake to see the glacier and ice bergs in the lake.

Evening 10k hike on the Hooker Valley trail to Hooker Lake. Nice views of the mountains and Mount Cook in the distance.

Visited Dunedin in the south east of the country. That is as close to exactly the other side of the world we can get, so as far from home as possible.

Visit to the Otago peninsula and to see the penguins.
There were none on the beach but we did see a couple of little blue penguins in their nesting box because they were moulting.

Overnight boat trip on Doubtful Sound.
Amazing scenery and landscapes and even got to see some bottlenose dolphins swimming alongside the boat.
Went for a dip in the water too.

Returned to Manapouri after a morning on the boat in Doubtful Sound.
Went to Te Anau to go to the glow worm caves (but not allowed to take photos).

Spent the day in Queenstown.
Completed ParkRun first thing - very scenic and lovely course and did it quicker than I thought I would.

Then 7km round hike to Fox Glacier lookout point.
