An interesting little spot in Sydney Olympic Park. Formally and old brick works factory and destined to be redeveloped for the games. However it was discovered to be a breeding area for the Green and Gold Bell frog. So instead of developing the site, they built an elevated waking ring above it.Read more

Wildlife Retreat at Taronga

In 2019, Taronga opened up a retreat inside the zoo grounds where you can stay the night in one of their beautiful rooms. Arguably, the best view of Sydney of any hotel.

This facility is another income stream to earn more money for the zoo, as a not for profit. In the middle of the blocks of rooms, they have built a special area called the Sanctuary, which is home to koalas, paramelons, turtles, and adorable echidnas that absolutely melted our heart.

Our bedroom looked over the Red Kangaroo area, so we were able to look down over them from the open window of our bedroom.

The dinner that night was a degustation at the retreat's Me-Gal restaurant and absolutely delicious.

It was a fantastic and beautiful experience that I won't forget for a long time.Read more

Taronga Zoo

Taronga is a beautiful Zoo in what is the unlikely place of the edge of Sydney harbour. After spending the night at the Zoo, we were first into it in the morning to start walking around before it was too busy. Animals having their breakfast, or in some cases just waking up.

The baby apes were definitely a highlight, so very cute while the family poked sticks into the food rock as a type of enrichment activity.Read more

Luna Park

It was meant to be a quick stop at Luna Park, but hot tip... That is not a thing at Luna Park. The rides take time, and no one is in a rush. But we did the Ferris Wheel, and Juanes and Alex did the chair swing and another couple of rides. 🚗🎢

The memory we would like to forget, however, is the more than 30 attempts to get a basketball into a hoop to win a prize and still failed. 🤣Read more

The term "splurge" is an understatement when it comes to staying here. We wanted to give Juanes one last wow moment here in Australia... It was a bit of extravagance that he (or us too, if we're being honest) may not experience again in a very long time.

Australia's only 6 star hotel with our room having a window overlooking both the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, it was very fancy. It made coming back to reality after two days very difficult... Especially since we didn't have the seat warming Japanese toilet to wipe our ass for us any longer.Read more

Dark Spectrum in Wynyard Tunnels

The start of Vivid Festival, inside the disused Wynyard tram tunnels they put in a display of lights called Dark Spectrum.

Underground for a kilometre filled with dance music and 300 kaleidoscopic lasers, 500 handmade lanterns, and over 250 searchlights... Definitely felt like we were taken to a different world.

It was a wow moment.Read more

A little bit of Vivid

This trip was not to see Vivid like previous years, which is good because we didn't have much time to see it. But we spent some time walking around the Quay area before going back to the hotel and collapsing from tiredness of a huge day.

The moving display on the Museum of Contemporary Art was one of it favourites in previous years to watch, and this year, it didn't disappoint either.Read more

Waking up early to have breakfast we headed out for a walk from Mrs Macquarie's Chair around to Opera house to catch a ferry in Circular Quay for no reason except to have a boat ride around the harbour to Darling Harbour.

A great way to start or last full day in Sydney and Juanes' last day in Australia.Read more

To round out our amazing experience with animals over the last 4 weeks, we took a trip under water at Sea Life in Darling Harbour.
