RejsendeHa! You should have seen this place when we arrived. It was crammed with people on day trips . We were so hot we figured we would just squeeze in like a local and make the best of it. Day trippers left and we had the place to ourselves. So much nicer then. You can't beat a plastic chair for comfort!

So many beautiful old buildings in Mompox. Pretty hot and steamy. We have retracted from sightseeing for a cool beer and afternoon siesta in the shade.

RejsendeNo we were completely shattered and literally staggered into Barichara. First time I've noticed pain in my knee. I'm pleased to say we were fully recovered the next day and no further knee twinges. We have a 3 day hike to the lost city in about a week so we'll see how that goes.

Fique (botanically known as Furcraea andina) is an endemic, agave-like plant native to the Andean regions of Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador. Often referred to as Colombia’s "national fiber," it features massive, fleshy, silvery-green leaves that yield some of the longest and strongest natural textile threads in the Americas. Overnight bus Guatapé to San Gil

We arrived in San Gil after 3 bus trips. Guatapé to Medellin, Medellín to Bucaramanga then another onto San Gil arriving at 9am. Phew! Fortunately we could get into our room for a nice shower. SpentLæs mere
