UK Van Trip - 2022

  • Walking Tour of Dublin

    27 Mei 2022, Ireland ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Nice tour round Dublin, wasn't the most interesting tour ever, but perhaps the most surprising fact...
Before the potato famine, the population was 8 million, now today it's only 5 million, so the effects are still very noticeable due to so many deaths and migration, even after all these years of population increase.Baca lagi

  • Bray

    28 Mei 2022, Ireland ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

Nice little stopover at a busy swan sanctuary. Hundreds of walkers, dogs, kayakers, pigeons, seagulls and swans.

As Lennon becomes more inventive at moving around the van, diving off the bed, chasing and grabbing the dog, and just generally being a maniac... I am having to also become more inventive at stopping him 😄Baca lagi

  • Wicklow Mountains

    28 Mei 2022, Ireland ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

One of the best views from the van we've ever had 😍 this is one of those times the pictures really don't do it justice too. The lake is huge, surrounded by beaches and a long river running to it. A mansion is near it, the whole valley is private and just empty and silent and beautiful. In comparison to reality the photos make it look like a small pond. Nicknamed Guinness Lake, due to dark water and white beaches.

The sound at the end of the video is Lennon blowing raspberries on me 😂 not farting

  • Kilmacthomas Greenway

    1 Jun 2022, Ireland ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

Lovely village, another accident as we were delayed by roadworks after swimming yesterday, so we ended up stopping here for the night. The buildings are all painted bright colours, there is a shop called Lennons, and we are parked between an abandoned mill and a community orchard, at the start of a huge greenway carrying on until the next city.

Seems most of Ireland is beautiful, so some of our nicest spots are totally unplanned as it's just too easy to end up somewhere gorgeous. People seem friendly everywhere you go. So far so good for the whole country 👌🏼🇮🇪🥰

Oh and we finally found a toothbrush for Lennon 🙈 his poor little rotten, month old teeth are finally clean 😆

  • Cork

    1 Jun 2022, Ireland ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Traditional Irish theme for today, so I made
    Soda Bread
    Coddled Pork
    Irish Tea Cake
Our spot was within hearing distance of Corks stadium so we heard a free Simply Red concert 🤣

  • Kinsale

    3 Jun 2022, Ireland ⋅ ☀️ 13 °C

Me and Lennon took a walk down the river into the village of Kinsale while Brace was working. Known for being the most beautiful, colourful, and traditionally Irish village in the country. Apparently it's so beautiful, people who visit never leave... (a lady I met backs this up, she came to visit her sister for 2 weeks over 30 years ago 🤣) So if you don't see us again you'll know where to come looking!Baca lagi

  • Muckross Small Traditional Farm

    5 Jun 2022, Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

The 'small' farm was 20,000 acres, Lennon met his first piglets and chickens... I can't help but wonder if he thinks all animals are strange dogs... Given he hasn't met any or watched TV or anything 🤣 poor hippy weird kid 😆

He loved it here because he got tonnes of attention from the women working here as guides/farm keepers

  • Muckross Petting Farm

    5 Jun 2022, Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

    Lennon LOVED the animals
We had an amazing experience really, there was a goat in labour, even the farmer was surprised, he thought she was just fat not pregnant 🤣
We could have stayed to watch her have the baby but it felt horrible watching 😂 very special though.
We also saw another farmer training a stray dog on the fence boundary. There was an Irish Wolf Hound, who's brother recently passed, leaving the girl heartbroken. They found a stray dog in the local park and have taken it in to be the remaining sisters new friend 😍

  • Muckross Large Traditional Farm

    5 Jun 2022, Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

We met a lovely Man in the school, he told us loads of info about the school in the 30s then he suddenly sang a traditional irish song to Lennon so I danced (with Lennon in his sling) and Lennon laughed 🤣

Such an amazing place, really gave you a good idea of what life would have been like working/living there in the 30s ☺️

  • Wild Atlantic Way

    6 Jun 2022, Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

The most beautiful route in Ireland... But we took no photos yesterday and today the view was gone 🤣 hidden by fog and rain.
Still quite nice to be honest even with extremely low visibility

  • Kerry Cliffs

    6 Jun 2022, Ireland ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

After a morning of driving the most scenic 3 hour route in Ireland, in total fog and rain 🤣 the skies finally cleared and gave us a gorgeous 2 hours bang on cue for our venture up to see the Kerry Cliffs. The rain returned as soon as we'd finished lunch and set of driving again 🙃
We saw lots of the various birds you are supposed to look for here... But sadly no puffins today

  • Laharn Viewpoint

    6 Jun 2022, Ireland ⋅ 🌧 15 °C

Went to camp in the clouds, apparently there's usually an amazing view 😁

Early start for a swim this morning (not in a small way for the nice indoor warm showers 🙃) Lennon loves swimming now after taking a few months to suss it out with a permanent confused look, never crying never smiling... He's finally a little waterbaby 🤗 and now we are headed for a ferry to our last section of the Southern Irish CoastBaca lagi
