• Day in Santiago

    A day to relax. We stopped for breakfast on the way back to the cathedral, we wanted to watch the peregrinos as the entered the square. People were applauding, apparently there was a wedding on a balcony of the state building. I watched a young couple coming in, and they embraced for several minutes(see photo), and then laid together on their backpacks. A few minutes later. He proposed to her. Then we checked to see if we could get into the cathedral, and there was only a small line.. it is a magnificent cathedral. We walked by the tomb of St. James, then just lingered for awhile to soak it all in. We then spent some time relaxing at the cáfe and we met up with Luis again. We chatted the rest of the afternoon in a busy area by the park, watching peregrinos coming in from the Portuguese route. We headed back towards the cathedral and helped a man from Cleveland find his way. We went back to the hotel and rested. I decided to make one last visit to the cathedral and get something to eat. Coming back from the cathedral,on an empty street, i heard my name called out. I ran into Luis again, for one last adios.Read more
