Driftwood capital. Loved the driftwood design competition on the beach. Some great individual artwork. Also managed to catch the sunset and then two glowworm dells.
Arthur Pass road trip

Lovely drive up Arthur Pass from Springfield. The boulders at Castle Hill are superb and definitely worth a trip back with my rock shoes. Weather cleared up as we drove over for some glorious views.

Just a short walk up to the viewpoint for Franz Josef glacier. Just a taster before our helicopter flight. Just waiting for the weather to improve

After a rainy day yesterday we got up early for our helicopter ride. As a bonus we also got the front seats. What fabulous views.
Road trip from FJ to Wanaka

Got up early for a quick spin up Roy Peak. I managed it in an hour less than the guide book time of 6 hrs and could have taken another 30 mins off if I hadn't stopped to wait in the queue for theLeia mais
Rob Roy Track

Another walk today in Mount Aspiring National Park. At last managed to see a Kea. Beautiful scenery and a fantastic walk.
Jetboat ride on the Wilkins river

Speed on the water day. Travelling at 70kph along the river which was in places only about 10cm deep made us very happy today. Well worth doing. The 360 spins were hard to video.

Lovely walk today along paet of the 3 day Routeburn track. Would be lovely to come back here and do some multiday hikes. Lots of cloud at start of the walk which cleared to leave fab views from theLeia mais
Doubtful Sound

Beautiful day for a cruise along Doubtful Sound. At one stage we stopped and everyone on the boat was quiet for 10 mins so we could listen to the bird song and enjoy the solitude. Fantastic glacialLeia mais
Glenorchy

Having driven up from Te Anau we arrived in Queenstown and stopped to watch the shark boats having fun before trundling up to Glenorchy. Stunning scenery. Fun watching the sparrows having a dirt bath.Leia mais
Mt Crichton Loop and the Luge

Final day adventures today. A walk up a nearby creek to see old gold mining areas. Lovely cool walk through the forest.
