Long day, but good to get started. The sun eventually appeared late afternoon, good hiking weather. 20km down just 300 km to go!!! I'll sleep well tonight 😴

Good hike today, but the mist didn't really lift, so no photos. Nice allergies to stay, sitting have a glass of wine, thunder and lightning storm coming towards us. Big day tomorrow, the serious climbing starts.Les mer

It's great to have a short hike, at the albergue by 2:30. I'm still high in the mountains, spent much of the morning walking through cloud, couldn't see more than 30 yards for the first couple of hrs. But once I got through the clouds it was class. The albergue is so cool, it's the old brick building, maybe the last photo.Les mer

Had a brilliant night in the albergue, lovely communal meal, with nice folk from all over Europe.

Walked in cloud cover all day, a little strange, but getting used to it now. Staying in a place called A Fonsagrada. We're still pretty much high in the mountains, about 950m above sea level. I have a nice little room to myself to catch up on sleep. It's the building before the yellow one in the photo. I think I've a view, but cloud cover is heading it.

Crossed into Galicia today, leaving the mountains of Asturias behind. The stone arrow marks the crossing point.Les mer

Yesterday's albergue was soo nice, it felt like an hotel, and food was delicious. So walked into Lugo day, which was a nice hike, and then to Ferrieira. The landscape has changed so much. It feels more like home, the dramatic mountains have been left behind. 42km today, the albergue is nice, but nothing special.Les mer

So nice hike today. The camino primitivo path, which is what I walked, has joined the camino Frances path. It's strange walking with so many, but the weather was good, and the landscape is so beautiful. 37km today, so a short 10km tomorrow morning. I plan to leave sometime after 6, trying to avoid the huge crowds walking into Santiago.Les mer

Made it. Cold walk this morning, left around 6, and took my time, enjoying my last hike. Reached Santiago Cathedral just before 8. Lovely to be here with only a few pilgrims. Beautiful old city.
