  • First Day in Taschkent

    Delicious breakfast in the Hyatt😊 then around the corner with the bus to the hotel Uzbekistan! Then the Hast Imam place with rebuilt Koran school, to see one of 4 oldest existing originals of the Koran! Into the new mosque and afterwards travelled with the Metro to very interesting. Chorus Bazaar and the Amur Timur monument! Wonderful day👍👍💕Read more

  • Day 2 Fergan

    Left Taschkent at 8 am with the Train to Andijon. Bare land at first then we reached the river with lots of trees, cotton fields as well as fields with varied crops! Visited the memorial and museum of Barbur. Who was born in the Fergana valley and conquered and ruled the Moghul(north India) as the Timorid leader! Then on to the ancient city of Mingehda where we climbed the old city wall!Read more

    Silk producer in Margilan being the name of Yodgorlik then to Rishtan pottery production. Visited a Kirgisistan family at home. Night in kokant! Wonderful day😊

  • Day 4 Kokand

    Alikahnkhoji mosque with Koran school and grave yard. The tour of the palace of khudayarkhans, nineteenth century! Then 3 hour drive over the pass back to Tashkent!

    Morning in the Museum of modern art afterwards to the Amir Timur museum and last but not least the Hodchi Ali Mosque. On the way by luxury bus to Samarkand we stopped in a cotton field!

  • Day 6 - Samarkand

    Went to Registan - which translates as ‚sand platz’in the morning, visited the 3 Koran schools there, which are no longer in use. Then by foot to coffee house in the center. Next was a visit to the Bibi mosque! Walked further to the cemetery and Nekropolis. The day finished with a visit to paper maker and evening meal with a local family in their home!Read more

    By car we left at 10 and travelled over the Pamir mountains south to Shahrisabz. The place Timur was born 1366 . Mosque of the four blue domes, Mosque Hastati Emir with mausoleum of Dorus Saodat. Amazing high remaining walls of Ak-Sarai palace!Read more

  • Day 8 Samarkand

    First stop was Daniel‘s tomb! Part of his bone is laid in a long hall to grow! Place of prayer and pilgrimage for the Uzbeks! Then into see the ancient wall paintings in Afrosaob, with museum ! Across to the Ulug Beks observatory incredible! This was Timur‘s favorite grandson.Read more

  • Day 9 Buchara

    Bus to the sameniden mausoleum, 1000 years old and in still there because it was covered in sand when Dingis Khan conquered. Then to the 2 Koran schools and on to the Bolo Khaus mosque with 40 wooden Pilar’s! 20 actually but doubled in the reflection of the pond! Across the road to the magnificent fortress! Archeological site with museum and throne of the Emir! Tuk tuk back to the Centre for coffee in the ulug Beks coffee house! Reading on the Jews of Buchara. Shopping and plow in the atilier of the miniature painter doubal Taschev Boronovich who also gave a talk on Sufism.Read more

    Poikalon with both mosques Koran schools and the citadel! Long walk through the back streets of the center to the Bolo Chaus mosque built 1806 by an Indian architect. Synagogue and Jewish quarter - Chesmeh Ayub. Visited a puppet master!Read more

    Bus to the Nekropolis Tschor Bakr, mosque with Koran school and resting place of many Emirs. On to the Naqshbandi Sufi mausoleum. Place of pilgrimage for many. Picnic Centre with large kitchens across the road. Kagan the summer palace , nineteenth century. Sitorai Mohi Hosss.Read more

  • Day 12 Chiwa

    Susanne show i.e. embroidery. Left at 8am. Stopped to see the Ayaz Kala ruins of a fortress from 400 bc to 600 ad, the next stop the smaller fortress Toprak Kala ruins from 6th century AD. There were over 50 fortresses of this kind in the area where Zarathustra was born and therefore the Zoroastria! Arrived in Chiea at 8pm.Read more

    Walk into the Itschal Kala, inner city of Xiva , unescorted world cultural heretige. Oasis from 5th century rebuilt in the 18th and renovated in 1970. Tash Khovli with harem and court. Jim’s Mosque with 211 wooden Pilar’s. 4 from 10th century! Then mausoleum of Pahlovan Mamud, galant knight and philosopher well known in Central Asia in 13 century! Kenya ark citadel . Beautiful winding city walls! A wonderful journey into a completely different world goes to an end!Read more
