Day 71 - Jurien Bay to Lucky Bay

Well that was a disaster, drove the 345 km to Lucky Bay Shacks (Cheap camp on the lee side of the sand dunes), all ready with full water tanks, full gas tanks and full batteries. Arrived at the turn off to find the road blocked off with sign to say Campsites closed. Dam it !

So kept driving another 45 km to Kalbarri to see if we can book into one of the four caravan parks, or Big River Ranch or even a roadside rest area. One park offered us a site but it was for a 16ft van so we couldn't fit, plus there was a cabin opposite that was full of blokes on the turps, very rough looking.

Drove through the National Park for 57 km on our way to a free camp 73km away and found a spot on the side of the highway.

The area has had so much rain that all the creeks are flooded, water over the road in a doz places, our little spot is under a communication tower, hope we don't get brain damage.

Never mind its only for one night as we got 2 nights at a park in Kalbarri from tomorrow.

Thinking of Sandy today as she lost her 18 yr old Burmese - Miki, who was her travel buddy and bed warmer.Baca lagi
