• Day 99 - Broome to Mary Pool Rest Area

    Up early, doing nearly 600km today. Rang Tom from Ironman about our parts. Still haven't been sent....grrrr

    Wayne took over the phone and ripped the guy a new butt, kept his cool, but told him the facts. Within an hour, we had the consignment note number, finally!!!

    Driving East today, and the landscape changed continuously, from open fields to low scrub, then started seeing heaps of Boab Trees, which I love. Then, out of nowhere, massive rocks pop up, which formed into the Erskine Ranges.

    Went straight through Fitzroy Crossing, then over the river, which had heaps water. Nearly every creek crossing was bone dry, so it was a novelty to see water.

    Pulled into Mary's Pool at around 5 pm, parked next to a dry creek bed, but think the main part is on the other side. Will check it out in the morning as it's nearly dark.

    Had a good catch-up with Alex and the boys by video, still 32 degs at 5.30
