    Tarifa

    November 18, 2018 in Spain ⋅ 🌧 16 °C

We left Cadiz in pouring rain and proceeded down the coast towards Tarifa - the southernmost point of the European continent. We took the coast roads through wild beaches and scrub land. We stopped at Trafalgar point so we could take in the lighthouse but persistent driving rain and strong winds prevented us from venturing out.
Further down the coast at Tarifa the wind and rain eased off so we had a quick look around. It is a town which is a great centre for wind surfers and kite surfers with an active port too.
The old town within the castle walls has a typical moorish layout with narrow streets.
We took a soaking on the walk back to our van..
We then travelled up through Algeciras where we thought we might stop over but continued on to Gibraltar where we set up on the Spanish side at a Marina.
