• Solent Way

    9 november 2020, Engeland ⋅ 🌧 14 °C

We drove to Milford on Sea on a very wet morning with the intention of completing the first five mile section of The Solent Way walk.
The sky was very grey as we arrived, but we set off in the hope that the weather would clear up a bit as forecast.
The first section of the walk took us along the shingle spit to Hurst Castle returning to walk eastwards through Keyhaven and along the sea front by the salt marshes.
We did get a bit of a soaking walking to the Castle but after that things brightened up a little with short showers passing through.
Plenty of birdlife o be seen on the salt marshes and on the sea shore. Curlew, Dunlin, Sandpipers, Oystercatchers, Egrets, Ducks and Gulls aplenty.
The Isle of Wight was at times covered in low cloud and we could see the rain approaching.
