  • Malacoota and Bermagui

    5–7 Feb, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

📌 We started our drive home, a beautiful drive through the the alpine region, we stopped for our first pie, one of many, on the road in Bruthen.

📌 The camping ground at Malacoota was beautiful, we spent the evening looking at koalas, beautiful birds and kangaroos which were all around in the park. We then headed to the Malacoota pub for a Parma and pot, a great pub with a nice regional atmosphere and beer garden. The first night in the tent was fun, it was nice to have Mila on the bed again.

📌 The next day we took off from malacoota early heading into NSW. We made a detour into Tilba, an old town that had some quirky stores and local shops. Of course this meant another roadtrip pie stop before then sussing out the nearby brewery, the Tilba Valley brewery. This would be a great spot on a weekend as they have a beautiful view over the lake and often have live bands such as the Rubens play there.

📌 The next day we sussed out Bermagui, we took Mila for a swim on the beach, testing out her new life jacket which seemed to give some extra confidence, resulting her being smashed by a wave 😅 We then took a lovely walk from narooma to Dalmeny along the coast. It would be an amazing place to live.

📌 We finished the night sitting in the lovely summer evening eating dinner with sunset over Wallaga lake.

  • Kiama and Sydney

    7–9 Feb, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 29 °C

📌 We left early again, the birds woke us up and we headed out for another morning swim with Mills in Narooma before again stopping off for another swim in Shoalhaven inlet which was absolutely gorgeous.

📌 We eventually made it to Kiama, where the campsite was right on the ocean. We had a walk around kiama coast after a humid tent set up, a storm was coming 🥵 We made the most of the nice weather and had a delicious woodfired pizza picnic on the beach. That evening the thunder and lightening started, and suddenly Mila was on the bed, we soon realised her area of the tent was saturated through 😅

📌 The next morning we headed into Sydney for a Sunday morning Brunch with Clara. Chloe found a great cafe and we hung out there for a few hours before heading to our Sydney hills cabin where the goal was to dry everything and enjoy a nice cabin for the night.

📌 Whilst being in Sydney we spent that afternoon where the rain cleared up and Mila and I were able to see the Iconic Bondi, the cliffs around Bondi where we had an afternoon walk, before finishing our tourist day out at Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Opera House. It was actually great and I would be keen to go back to Sydney at some point with people!

  • Blue Mountains

    10 Februari, Australia ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

📌 We cruised onwards after a great sleep to the Blue mountains, it was spitting and not looking great but the afternoon cleared up. We took this opportunity to go and see the famous three sisters with millsy. We ended the day with a 5 waterfall walk with Mila, through some beautiful forest and valleys. The storm was rolling in again, we were not keen to go to the tent. We ended up hanging out at the camp kitchen chatting to some Germans whilst the storm settled. Luckily there was no rain at night but the tent was a little wet.

📌 The next day was a very misty morning but it cleared after coffee, so we packed up the tent and headed on a beautiful walk around porters pass, which gave stunning views over the mountains/canyon. The goal was to head to the Hunter Valley early as a storm was hitting the Blue mountains that afternoon. We wanted to suss out an old regional pub before leaving so we headed to the Alexander hotel which was gorgeous.

  • Hunter Valley & back to Redcliffe

    11–13 Feb, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 33 °C

📌 After a slight iteniary change we arrived on a warm afternoon and set the tent up for atleast 2 nights tonight yay!! The park was small but quaint and we cooked some tacos and enjoyed another outside meal with a beautiful night watching the lorikeets, gallahs and even black cockatoos fly over.

📌 The next day was wine tasting day, there was plenty of dog friendly wineries with many in amazing settings! Our favourite one was a beautiful old farm house winery amongst beautiful gums known as Briar ridge. We then spent the rest of the day winery hopping, eating cheese boards and then finishing off at 4 pines brewery. We had another nice evening as the very warm 36 degree day cooled.

📌 A huge storm was rolling in across northern NSW, so we headed back to Redcliffe a night earlier. We still wanted to see Nambucca Heads so we stopped for a swim and coffee before a tasty fish and chips lunch in Coffs Harbour. Then off to Redcliffe for the final stretch, keen to sleep in a comfy bed again!!
