  • First day in kerala

    January 3, 2025 in India ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

We arrived around 6am and went for a nap and ended up sleeping for 7 hours missing breakfast lolz. We woke up feeling much better and met the guy in the room next to us who’s an India tour guide. He told us that walking bare foot on grass is good for jet lag. We made our way out and went on a lush walk down to the beach which was around 10 mins and gorgeous. We came back to the homestay and had a meal specially made for us which was unbelievableRead more

  • Kovalam

    January 5, 2025 in India ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

We ended our lovely time at jeevan after a crazy last night watching some local music. And watching a parade walk down the street with an elephant for a Hindu festival of music and the moon??? We think. They played music allllllll night which was actually quite long lol. We then got a my first tuk tuk to Kovalam and we’re staying and a fairly nice place. We went to the beach and met lots of funny people. It’s a proper tourist beach spot but still super nice. We watched the sunset from a rooftop bar and then went to another more humble bar. Then had a lovely dinner.Read more

  • End of kovalam and start of varkala

    January 7, 2025 in India ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

We ended our stay at the weird home stay in kovalam had the same breakfast. Freya was super ill yesterday:( and it was travel day so we were trying to work out the best way to do it. All trains were booked up and the bus would take 2 and half hours. We cheekily checked out how much a taxi would cost and it was 1800 rupees (£17) for a hour and a half drive, so we thought fuck it. The new room is beautiful. We got here and Freya slept for a few hours then we went to the beach which is the best beach we’ve been to yet! We had Tibetan food last night. And another dosa for breakfast this morning at juicy cafe which was 180 rupees for the both of us (£1.70) LOLRead more

  • Few days in varkala

    January 8, 2025 in India ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Had a very beautiful relaxed chilled bliss couple days in varkala just spending our mornings eating dosa and swimming then chilling in the mid day heat. Then heading back out for sunset swims and drinks cards and dinner. Meeting the loveliest smiley happy locals and getting pics either people all over. The guy next door to our home stay lived in Bristol for 10 years(obvs) and we had a matching tattoo (his only tattoo). Oh and we may have shaved Freya’s head.Read more

  • A week in our lives

    January 13, 2025 in India ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

Soooo we’ve done a few bits since my last post:P

We finished our time at jickys nest in Varkala and got a train to kollam… which was a rather strange place luckily just there for a quick night in a hospital looking home stay. We then got a quick train to munroe island which was beautiful quiet and tranquil. We stayed at a gorgeous home stay with the best hosts ever Subin, deepa and their son adi (nickname). There father took us out at 5am on his canoe and gave us a tour around the waters and we watched the sunrise was absolutely stunning. And we stopped for a chai and a chat with his dons mid way.
We then did our first big trip, 6 hours on a gnarly bus. It was actually quite enjoyable but was also very very long, but got to see some monkeys on the way!! We are now in the mountains near munnar and we are staying in a dannnnnk spot with the best view from our room. Going on a hike tomorrow 🥰 bye for now xxxxx

  • Lots more of india❤️❤️

    January 20, 2025 in India ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

So we’ve been too a few more places!!! We were in alleppey for 4 nights, stayed an extra night as we loved it so much. Probably my fav place we’ve been so far so a lovely beach and nice and quiet. Have some incredible food and also had a few cheeky beers which felt so deserved as we haven’t much so far. Then went to kochi which was a change to a big city. We had a lovely time but I think we are still craving beach life. We are now in kannur staying at sun n tan homestay hahah. Closest we’ve been to a beach only a few steps away and is even quieter than before. We went for dinner last night and on our way home met 3 brothers all around 50. They invited us to there house for cake and tea and there whole family were there! It was so cute. The brother who lived there loved England football and kept saying ‘Gary lineker’. He owned a hand woven towel company and came out with a bag with 4 towels in and gave it to us hahah. Very funny and special memory! We are now just having a nice few days chilling before we leave kerala! Onto the next place Gokarna xxxxx also met up with my mums work friend Josy who is so lovely, and his family. And I got a haircut:)Read more
