First time staying at a winery. Only place they ask you dont park is between the big trees by picnic table and the olive trees so we are out of site for there customers. We dont drink wine but went over for a taste anyways and found one we liked so @ $16 why not we also brought a bottle of red for our friends @ Tasman Travels. We parked towards the main road near the grape vines on a patch of uncut grass for Maggie to play in. We had traffic noise by day by night very little. Pack in pack out here, very little spark cover and wireless nation is fine.
Had a lovely walk around the vines,

  • North South Holiday Park

    March 4, 2024 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌬 23 °C

We would like to thank the friendly team at North South Holiday Park. We dropped our caravan off to get a couple of things done at 8am, we were in the car with our cat Maggie thinking where do we go with her till 2pm, we are from the north island and dont know anyone down the south island, so we rung the camp to see if we could get in then. There cleaners were about to start and would get the cottage cleaned first for us to come in.
Great service at the desk, the camp is huge, they have cabins, bunk rooms, a cottage, plenty of camper, moho and caravan parks down to tent spaces, . I found 2 dump stations 2 kitchens, 2 laundrys, 2 toilet blocks, theres bbq areas and a large play area for the kids, oh can't forget the heated swimming pool. So if you are looking for somewhere to stay around the Christchurch area but out of the city this is the place to be.

  • Reefton Racecourse

    February 22, 2024 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

This stop was for the NZMCA National Rally, our very first rally. As younger members there wasnt really much here for us, but we are keen to try a smaller rally down the track. Would have been nice if more trades jumped on board as well. Theres around 900 mohos campers and caravans here. Was good to see all the rubbish bins around the place. Water on site was nice to top up our water. Saturday was very wet so we stayed in our van but headed over to watch the auctions and wow, some items went for more than they were worth. I took maggie out in her backpack for a walk and we found Bella a lovely little dog we follow on nzmca travelling with pets. Area photos today so we will meet other New Plymouth/ Taranaki members.
Looking forward to sunday nights black and gold event.

  • Lowburn Harbour

    February 1, 2024 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

This place is HUGE, was talking to a lady staying here who counted 195 campers here as she walked around, only to have more arrive. We are right beside the Clutha river, that has a small bay with a boat ramp and 2 jetties. We even woke to snow on the hills. One end you will find flush toilets, the other you will find a long drop. It says no tents but there are some. With all rhe campers its still quite. There are rubbish bins here, but not big enough for all the camper so rubbish gets pilwd up next to the bins. So please take your rubbish with you or wait till the guy comes to pickup the rubbish. 2 bars up for spark and wireless nation good.
No tap water and dump station 5 mins back in Cromwell.
