    2nd time here, still as good as our frist visit. This is a paid doc camp or use doc pass. There are walking tracks, good fishing beach. There is plenty of room here for mohos, caravans even tents as there are 2 toilet blocks here, 1 cold shower. There is water onsite but should be boiled for drinking. Pack in pack out.Read more

    We like it here, plenty of room here, even 5th wheelers will fit, theres a turning bay at the end. Water and 2 toilet blocks, cold showers. Pack in pack out. Walk to the lighthouse ( to far for bad knees) or about 1.5ks the other way to the old pier, or cheat and drive lol, nice deep water for fishing at the pier. We found an Injured pleasant so rung spca whom came and caught her with our help. We stayed here October last year when we meet Tasman Travels that we had been following for sometime. So you never know where you may bump into us.Read more

    Just spent the last few nights here, used the washing machine a couple of times. Was raining when we arrived so the ground is drying out still. Never seen the park so empty.
    Wifi works well here, spark phone not the best. Toilets, washing machine and dryer, rubbish and dump station on site.Read more

    We have stayed here before but in the cottage as we had work done on our van, but this time we are in our van pluged into power. Got a bit of washing done, $4 a wash $2 for dryer. Clean toilets and free showers. Staff are friendly and helpful.Read more

    We just love it here, this is our 3rd visit. Not many other campers here being winter and no need to bookin this time of the year. Plenty to do, fishing, walking, photos, on a clear day you can see the North island.Read more

    Very nice spot, not much sun this time of the year. We stayed just 2 nights with 1 day/night with full on rain. Good test for our new caravan.
    There are toilets there non drinking water as well. Pack in pack out.

    Nice spot , handy walk to town, good food and service. We are not fans of carparks but other than traffic noise it was fine, wasnt enough to keep us awake. 3 mins drive to the ferrys.

    Right on the beach, what more could you ask for, fish you say! Yes that to, Red cod and shark chomped this time here. Not the best spot in strong winds, not that we have struck that.
    2 nights stay, pack in pack out, wireless nation and spark work well here.Read more

    Best pop we have stayed at so far. Kevin and Linda are very welcoming and helpful. Plenty of space for large rigs. Powered and unpowered sites. Rubbish bins and recycling, water also onsite. They also have a lovely meeting house/shed to catch up and watch the rugby.Read more

    What a stunning spot at the beach. Yes its on the side of the road but its a country rd, pack in pack out here guys, a small amount of wireless nation and spark signal. 3 nights max stay. Yes pets allowed but please pickup after them. This is one of the freedom spots that may soon be lost so make sure you are csc and use it dont use the bushes. RESPECTRead more

    Love it here, our old neighbourhood. Right nex to the lake, 3 nights in 30 days stay. There are 2 areas, 1 up by the toilets 4 spaces for non selfcontained and down by the boat ramp for selfcontained. Can get very busy here. There are 2 rubbish bins here. Wireless nation good along with cell cover. Lovely walk around the lake or take a bike ride along the coastal walkway.Read more

    So peaseful, there is a grass area but closed off for winter so you park in parking area. 3 nights in 30 days, toilet and rubbish bin. This is right next to the beach, sandy beach good for fishing. Other than the locals we had the place to ourselves.Read more

    Just a tad muddy in most places here over winter, but still plenty of spots to park. Long drop toilets ( dirty). Pack in pack out, 3 nights in 30 days stay, at low tide you can walk around to the 3 sisters rocks, but be preparied to still get wet. Wireless nation and spark works fine there.Read more

    A few level spots around, large spaces to park. Powered $20 p/n unpowered $15 p/n toilets and dump station along with drinking water on site. This is next to the main road so some road noise. Short walk to river for fishing / whitebaiting or just walk out to the beach at low tide. Catch the sunset if thats your thing. Pack in pack out.Read more

    Clean, friendly place to stay, great location. Swimming pool, hot pool, really nice hot showers. Plenty of rubbish bins. Powered and unpowered sites, cabins and motel rooms. About a 40 min drive to the falls, then head back to the free caves onto the natural bridge.Read more

    Stunning lake as ever. This was our 4th time here, less moho,'s this time more small vans but still felt safe. Plenty of bird life, more if you take a stroll around the lake on the well made 6k track. 3 nights stay in 30 days, pack in pack out. There are long drop toilets, they have not been nice in the past so stayed away this time. Wireless nation and spark both work well here. Some park up near the toilets but most perfer by the boat ramp, us included.Read more

    Busy place, but still we found it peaseful. Thursday is grayhound race day, we have never watched them before so I went over to check them out and man they fly around the track.
    Plenty of rubbish bins here to use. Meet some lovely people here, even a couple of other cats here, maggie didnt want to be friends.
    We even done a little metal detecting, found $5.01, a car without its wheels and a round tuit lol.

    Great place with walking tracks along with other activerys. Moho, campers, caravans and tents allowed, tents 2 nights others 3 nights stay. So peaseful if thats what you are looking for. This freedom comes with a kiwicamp. Pack in pack out. Wireless nation and spark work well here.Read more

    We love all the space this place has to offer, 2 huge areas to park. Uneven how ever there are some flat spots. Bbqs, long drop toilets and solar showers, what more could you want? Rubbish I hear you say, well yes there are rubbish bins here as well. Pet friendly. Wireless nation works well, spark 1-2 bars only.Read more

    Due to the wet weather on our unplained return to New Plymouth for a minor op, we chose to stay here, firm underfoot was needed. We parked up away from the road along the back fence. We had no problem with the trucks at night. Sorry I was not upto taking pix'sRead more

    Janice was a lovely host, she gave us a bag of oranges off her tree. Nice chat over a cuppa tea. Max size is 8 mtrs . Power $6 per night, very cheap or just a donation for unpowered. 10 mins to the base shopping centre. Nice and peaseful, we would stay here again.Read more
