Praça do Comércio & Timeout food market

    October 5, 2023 in Portugal ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

The second day in Lisbon, we went to the yellow square, also called ( Praça do Comércio). It is iconic with the yellow buildings at the square. In the center, you can see the statue of King José I. It is chilling and there is a Lisboa Story Centre where you can read and know about the history of Lisbon with a fee. We had a package that was with the story telling and a 3D motion story telling. Do not really recommend if you have motion sickness 🤢. It was pretty chilled at the square, can just walk around and take some pictures or just have a coffee and enjoy the sweets at the nearby cafés. After a long walk and some photos time, we went to time out market for lunch. It was so bezig but there were loads of food stalls and you can get all the local dishes you want like seafood or even desserts. It taste so good and with affordable price! Don't forget to get some Sangria or local beer 🍻!Read more

    Lisboa Tu e Eu 2

    October 4, 2023 in Portugal ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

We arrived in Lisbon pretty late, cause my sister also flying in from Lisbon. In Lisbon, it was actually quite cheap to travel with Uber. I would highly recommend you to take an Uber from the airport to your hotel. It doesn't cost a lot and it is fast. We put down our stuff at the Airbnb and rest a bit before dinner. The Airbnb was quite alright with the cheap price and had baciscally everything you need like washing machine, stove and coffee machine. Besides, it is also in front of a church called Panteão Nacional and you will also have see many restaurants with walking distance around the Airbnb. What really nice was the dinner. It is called Lisbon Tu e Eu 2, can easily search in Google Maps. If you are eating there, I would really recommend the sardine dish, the bean rice and the potato mash cake with fish or prawns. At last you can also try their famous rice pudding. Amazing! 😍Read more

    Luxembourg city center

    July 30, 2023 in Luxembourg ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

It was a weekend trip for us. So, we decided to spend our last day in the city before we head back. Before this trip, I signed us up for a city quiz. I figured this would be for the both of us to do and would be the fastest way to know about the city. Also, would really recommend you to do this city quiz. Feels good to have it guide you to all the tourist spots and get to know the history or information of the place. For our lunch, we went to this mexican place in the center. Great food and atmosphere to go with your partner. But any restaurants will be great 👍 and also a really cute place that located after the justice department area, it is called De Gudde Wëllen. You can actually see the view of Luxembourg buildings from the place while trying out their beers. I really like Luxembourg in the end.Read more

    Mullerthal Trail

    July 29, 2023 in Luxembourg ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

The second day of our trip, we went o the Mullerthal Trail for a hike. We didn't do a really long hike cause we went for a nice brunch in the city and also did a morning swim and sauna. 😊 But still, it was a 8km hike in the trail. I would honestly recommend anyone to go on to one of these hikes. It gives you some time with the nature and time for your partner to have some fun, talk and sight seeing. It was really beautiful and healing. The surrounding are quiet and not very crowded on our trail. Besides, I also like to recommend you to go on brunch and dinner in Luxembourg. It is indeed a little expensive but the food is really tasty and the portion is big , so it would be enough just to share a main with 2 persons. If you are not a big eater.Read more

    Mousel's cantine

    July 28, 2023 in Luxembourg ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

We drove all the way from Amsterdam to Luxembourg. It was a long drive because of the traffic and we were late as well 😅. We were staying at the Parc Hotel and right after we put down our stuff, we went straight to have dinner. There were a lot of choices but we really wanted to try out the Luxembourg local dishes. So we googled some places and we found this restaurant called the Mousel's Cantine. We ordered the local beer and local dish. It was a pork shank with potatoes and pickles. Really delicious! Right next to the restaurant was actually a street full with bars and dancing bars. Seems like a pretty cool place to hangout with friends.Read more

    Brussels

    May 22, 2023 in Belgium ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

I went to see a lot of other tourist spots on my last day and just spent my last day walking around the city. If you are really interested in this pissing statue, there are also Janneke Pis and Zinneken Pis which are very funny to see actually. During my walk around the city, I passed by the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula. The cathedral has really nice stained glass windows which are really beautiful. I also briefly walked past the Old England building and the Royal Palace. One thing here is I didn't have the time to visit the Delirium village, it is a really cool place to see and enjoy the Delirium beers. During my lunch time, I just want to eat some fresh seafood and enjoy a beer. That you can also do cause I think there are a lot of restaurants that offer seafood.Read more

    Brugge & Ghent

    May 21, 2023 in Belgium ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

During my weekend in Brussels, I have booked a day trip to Ghent and Brugge. Both are really nice places but I won't suggest you take a day trip like me if you have extra spare time. It was a little too rushed for me to see the places. But one of the good things about the tour is that we have a tour guide with us and he explained to us the history of the cities. It gives you a good overview of what you are looking at. So that part was really nice. It is just unfortunate that we don't have more time to actually see things. The tour guide recommended a few restaurants to try local dishes like waffles and stoofvlees. It is a traditional Belgium dish which was really delicious! At the end of the tour, we went to a food hall in Brussels for dinner. It was a really cute food hall and the food was good. I think the price was reasonable as well. During the trip, I also tried their mussels and fries. It is just so good. Definitely recommend it if you are a foodie.Read more

    Brussels pride

    May 20, 2023 in Belgium ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

I was planning to spend my long weekend in Brussels and I was so lucky to get to experience the Brussels pride parade on that day. It was completely unexpected and unplanned. It was so much fun and was full with people who wants to celebrate the freedom of the day. 🏳️‍🌈I walked almost half of the parade with the crowd and at the end of the parade there was a huge stage in the center with DJs. At night , there were also small stages at some junctions of the street for you to keep the party going. Really really cool.Read more

    Grote markt, Manneken Pis

    May 19, 2023 in Belgium ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

The first day I arrived in Brussels, I went straight out with a friend (Marla) a girl that I met in the hostel. We went to the Grote Markt, Manneken Pis and sat down at a really cute place to have some local beers. The whole area around Grote Markt really gives you that historical feeling and everyone is just chilling and having a beer. We also saw Manneken Pis which is a statue of a boy pissing. Haha. It is so funny to see how many people are drawn by that statue. Later on, I also went to a beer tasting event. Honestly, I won't really recommend anyone to pay around 20 euros for that. I feel like you enjoy it better by just sitting down in a local bar and ordering some special drinks. However, the pub crawl experience was fun. We went out in a small group and hopped on to different bars. So I would say it is a really good experience to visit bars in a short time and meet some new people. There is also one fun thing you could do is to count the comic painting on the walls. There are apparently plenty of them that you can see when you walk around the center.Read more
