After Toddy passed his MOT we were full speed ahead on the ferry to Scotland. Then a drive to the most southerly point Mull of Galloway. Free beach view park up tonight.

Carlisle capers

After my Gretna visit I headed to Carlisle as yet another storm was forecast. I also needed a new phone as my old iPhone 8 which I use as my uk phone was really starting to struggle. Great campervan parking by the castle £4.10 for 24hrs. I even ended up with a little twin van next to me overnight. Just had a quick walk past the cathedral & round the musical trail in Bitts park before retreating from the weather.Read more

In pursuit of Hadrians Wall!

Well I seem to be going from tourist attraction to tourist attraction & still not actually seen the wall! Or maybe I have & I haven’t realised it. First visit to Vindolanda which was a massive archeological site. It was £12.50 to go round & there were lots of stones but no idea if any of them were the wall. 😂
Next to The Sill as I fancied the rooftop walk but then got distracted also by the Shaun the sheep walk. On heading out I discovered I had to pay for parking & that you could also overnight park here for £10 so decided to stay put tonight as I’m tucked away in a corner & it’s good here for the dogs.
On wading through all the leaflets I’ve picked up discovered I can walk to the “famous” bit of Hadrians wall from here so will either do that tonight or in the morning. My pursuit of the wall continues ….Read more

Not worth £11.80 to see the toilets!

A quick stop at Housestead to see the Roman toilets but on discovering it was £11.80 entry I decided not 😂🚽🧻. Quick photo of the wall that was free then onwards we go!

Tebay Services

Normally a motorway services is last place I’d stop but tebay either it’s farm shop & amazing view is rather special. It’s £22 to park in campervans area or £26 with a £3 voucher to spend in services with full facilities. So Toddy is full of water toilet emptied everything charged & me showered. It was a beautiful wooded spot for the boyz.Read more

New Parking near Dad

My usual parking spot was rammed with Travellers - horses & caravans galore! So we had to quickly find a new spot. Luckily second spot was nice with great walkers round Scorton lake for the Boyz

Very long drive today almost 8hrs with queues on M25. It was hot weather too. Parked up near good friends tonight so had a great catch up. Free parking overnight. Pay from 9.30am but I’ll be offski by then.
Discovered my friends Sarah & Jacquie will be in Salzburg pretty much when I am so we’ve planned a catch up.Read more

Got to Dover 3hrs early in typical Sandra style & they put me straight in a ferry. Virtually first on fab windows seat.

Today we headed into Belgium & stopped at a boat heaven park up. €5 pn collected by the Capitaine in an evening. Very hot today just chillaxing after a trip to Lidl.
