• Back at Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park

    March 22 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 86 °F

Woke up this morning to a low of 52 degrees. Temps climbed to 86 degrees on a nice sunny, but breezy, day. We pulled anchors at 8:30am, and dropped them again in Jackson Hollow two hours later. This is just right around the corner from the State Park where we launched. I kayaked around a little bit, and Bill rowed his Kaboat around. Bill planned to spend the night there. I had already decided I would be loading out today. We’ve circumvented the entire lake, and as much as I enjoy cruising with Bill, there wasn’t much cruising left. So made 180 miles of my 600 mile drive home. We cruised 331.4 miles around Dale Hollow Lake, burning 64 gallons of gas. I averaged just a tad over 5 mpg. We cruised at an average of 5 mph.
Added note. There was also an earlier forecast for storms this evening back on the lake. But the forecast kept changing, and different sources gave different percent chances of rain and thunderstorms. Eventually they all kind of settled in just a slight chance. Well, it looks like the storms are going more north of Dale Hollow. And I'm sitting towards the southern end of them here in Scottsburg. lol. At least I'm on the trailer and won't worry about rough water. But I already feel some gusts blowing a bit...
