Pike Big Bay Hollyford Loop

10 day 144km loop up the Pike river and back down the Hollyford. There used to be a track along the Pike but it hasn’t been maintained for many years so we had a four hour walk through lake Alabaster but that was the easy part. The third day we gave up after 12 hours and camped by the river. Martins bay was great and we saw lots of Fiordland crested penguins which are in the movie if you can spot them in the bad quality film.Read more
