  • Temuka to Ashburton

    September 28, 2024 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

The last two days before we fly back to Sydney on Monday. We also have to hand the van back, and as we know, they inspect everything we thought we'd stay the last 2 days in one place. We've also agreed to a late checkout so we can just do the last hour to the airport. Only enough food left for one night, so I hope there's a cafe/ restaurant nearby. Civilised here, guess what's for lunch?Read more

    September 30, 2024 in Australia ⋅ 🌬 18 °C

We left Ashburton sad that our NZ trip was over, but with all our memories and busting with photos, trinkets, and tickets for the tat box as Martin calls it. Arrived ba k at the moho depot all checked out OK paid the surcharge for the 3,000 k we'd travelled and were whisked away to the airport. Smooth flight back to Ben's till we came to the dreaded carousel that is. Ours cases were almost last poor Ben's sat waiting for us. Arrived back at theirs around 10pm been a long day and 3 hrs lost we were tired. Jacqui has a 9-day agenda for us, so it's a good night's sleep to start our memory building again.Read more

  • Last day in Oz

    October 8, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

Despite the weather having other ideas and raining. It did stop a beach visit, but we went to the famous chocolate brownie coffee house in Cougee in the morning and then the potting shed for lunch. Never seen anything like it, flowers, animals, light shows, tunnels, and people dressed up it was enchanting. We had a great time. Went home with the biggest doughnuts you've ever seen. Watched a rubbish film & had tea and doughnuts. Ben cooked chicken for tea, which was delicious. As he gets up so early for work, it was time for bed then. Good job really not much time for teary 😢 goodbyes. ♥️Read more

  • Homewards bound

    October 10, 2024 in England ⋅ ☁️ 13 °C

Not a dry eye in sight, Jacqui dropped us at Sydney International Airport at noon, and sadly, we started the long journey home. Qantas business first, excellent lounge to wait and lovely seats and service on the aircraft from Sydney to Singerpore. Then Swiss Air Business for the longest leg, Singapore to Zurich 12 50 hrs Arrrgh. Lie flat so can't complain, but much too narrow, the chair went flat but you couldn't lie flat. Swiss Air Businesss, for a short hop 1.50 hrs from Zurich to Heathrow, which was excellent. Crew couldn't do enough for you, fed watered and enough chocolate to sink a battle ship. Arrived at the baggage carrousel a 8.00 am we were collected and through by 8.20 fantastic. Met by Karen from Kazcars and whizzed home. The last 6+ weeks are now just the most amazing memory. Thank you for joining us. I hope you've enjoyed it too? 😊 ❤️💋Read more
