On driving in here and swapping back to Roger driving to park our van onto allocated site 113. We realise Rog hasn't organised what he was trying for (awning on sheltered side) so we park out of the way and have a wander about the park to see what sites would be suitable - plenty of sites to choose from! We agree on site 108 - so we head back to the office to see if this can work - it does. Happily get ourselves settled onto site 108 with awning out. I get 2 loads of washing on $6 per load. Once we've got the washing out on the park clothesline it's time for lunch. Roger has a couple of banana sandwiches and I have grilled cheese on toast - easy. After a relax, we decide to try a swim at the beach, Roger happy to take the paddleboard again to finish off coming back on the river. We paddle in the surf - but agree it's too churned up off shore (I call it like a washing machine) so we return to the river. We get on the paddleboard together and float around on the wind, Roger eventually paddles us over to the floating pontoon where he gets off onto to jump off and swim back - leaving me with the paddleboard. Good fun. Back to our camp to relax again. We get the washing in and packed away. Roger goes for another swim, I potter at camp. More reading with drinks and nibbles - I decide I'm not a fan of pickled octopus, which we bought in Jurien Bay. We both have showers, then I get tea sorted. Chicken Pesto Pasta with the Thermomix - very green and tasty. Too full for dessert so we decide to go checkout sunset over the beach. Beautiful evening for a stroll - really lovely place to be. Get back, tidy up and relaxing before bed.
10/12/24 Tuesday. I wake up early and feel like a run. So by 6.30am I'm out the door enjoying the beauty of the morning here. Rog was up as well, and he started with his breakfast, some pack up, then a paddleboard. When I return from my 6km run Rog is away still at the river mouth with the paddleboard, so I quickly get changed into water gear and go join him. We swap, he's just finished so I get on the paddleboard next. The wind is very strong again, still a beautiful morning to be out here though, so I don't last too long out on the water (tiring!). Roger meets me as I return, to wash (rinse off) the board and carry it back. I have my breakfast and then go for my shower. By the time I return Rog is ready to leave, so I do my preparations to be ready to go too. We leave here around 9.30am. Only upset, on leaving the park, Roger couldn't find the gate key relating to site 108 (each park customer receives one on booking in - confusion as we changed our sites...). Fingers crossed, we have a week to find it or get charged $50 to have it replaced.
