We drive from Peaceful Bay straight to Albany Equestrian Centre, during our drive here I receive a whatsapp call from Tegan - oh my heart is happy, both my 'kids' have called me for my birthday. This is where we'll be camping tonight, and Roger is keen to park and unhitch the caravan so we can drive about easily to check out Albany. I'm abit concerned we're arriving at our camp spot too early - but turns out not to be a worry. Tom Curtain and his entourage are already here setting up for their show tonight, and their is some sort of horsey happening as there are riders and their horses about. Roger goes and finds an organiser - and we're told where we can set up well out of the way. Our spot turns out to be on the edge of where the car parking happens later for the show. We set up where indicated, unhitch and go for a drive into Albany.
We return here about 4pm. I relax and respond to birthday messages on my phone. I get a lovely birthday call from Jenny. Roger and I (Roger has got our chairs and drinks ready to go for both of us) walk over to where tonight's Tom Curtain show is being held - get our tickets scanned in for entry - we're in plenty of time for 5.30pm start. I have the time to return to our caravan to put my mobile on charge (almost flat - I miss a call from Leigh later) and I can purchase some sausages the Pony Club are selling on the way back to our seating.
We enjoy the evening - Tom Curtain and his support acts put on a wonderful family show. Tom a very talented man with his horses, dogs and goats - glad this worked out for my birthday! Show finishes just after 9pm and we happily stroll on back to our caravan. Have a cuppa and some Taffy treats. Roger has his shower and we're both happy to get to bed.
11/01/25 Saturday. Roger's up first around 6.30am, I'm abit slower...closer to 7am. We leisurely have breakfast. We watch as Tom Curtain and his tour partners head off nice and early - I think their next performance is in Esperance. We get organised to go out for the day - we're leaving the caravan here to pick up later. Roger makes up some cheese and vegemite sandwiches to take with us. We leave around 8.30am.
We return and collect the caravan about 3pm.
Then head to the closest shopping centre to where our Farmstay for tonight is, to get a few needed items.
