• HQ Coffin Bay

After having gone for a walk to the IGA supermarket earlier, to get some grocery items. While there and looking in their Cellabrations liquor department I came across the Coffin Bay gins - three of them. On asking how best I could get to taste them - I'm told they don't have a call in distillery set up, my best way to try them is to go to the HQ and do a 'Gin Flight' paddle. So here I am! Roger has come over with me - he says he feels like a coffee. Apparently it pays to book to come here, but they manage to accommodate us with a lovely table outside (as long as we're gone by 5.30pm for its next reservation). We've already ordered our selection - a whopping $35 for my gin paddle - to try the 3 local gins and $5 for Roger's cappuccino. Most people come here for the fresh oysters - $30 per dozen, luckily we've had our fill of amazing oysters from this morning. Typical me, I like all the gins - though one stands out. I ask and find out I can't purchase it here - I'll have to return to the supermarket. After we leave, I do. Roger goes back to our van to relax. I come back from the Cellabrations store with 1 bottle of gin and 2 bottles of bubbles - and a foldable cooler bag 'thrown in' for my purchases!Read more
