3rd Volunteer Shift MFSR Bush Festival

Todays shift 8.30am to 4pm. Arrive and sit ourselves at the tables in the Volunteer Hub - waiting to find out what we'll be doing. We have a few things to do, when told what they are, but with many hands on deck we get them done quite quickly. There's a fair bit of waiting around between jobs - for things to happen in the right order, and waiting on how supervisors want things done. Things I helped with today - setting up the whip cracking area, children's play area, VIP drinking and eating area, putting up greenery (eucalypt branches), bar seating area and screens and banners in the Rodeo arena. We enjoyed a lovely morning smoko break - slices and fruit with our cuppas, and at lunchtime chicken burgers and chocolate bars. We were relieved from duties early again - as all under control for at this stage. Headed back to camp after 2pm.Read more
