  • Rainforest Rides & Koala Vibes

    11. januar, Australien ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

Left Cairns for the day and went up the skyrail to overlook the rainforest and stop on the village of Kuranda. Full of shops, restaurants, and wildlife sanctuaries. We were fortunate enough to meet Blinky the Koala 🐨. We took the train back down with incredible scenery and saw our second. Finished our day with a couple cocktails with some friendly Australians then went for a board walk and a taco 🌮!Læs mere

  • Gratitude in every breath 🤿

    12.–14. jan., Australien ⋅ 🌬 28 °C

Under the sea 🌊 🤙🐡🐠🦈🐟🤿! Three days two nights on Ocean Quest: Divers Den liveaboard, living on the Great Barrier Reef! Logged 10 dives including two night dives and one of those being a fluoro dive (uv flash light). Waking up to endless blue, diving alongside coral, fish and sharks while falling asleep under a sky full of stars. Every dive felt unreal, every breath underwater felt like a gift. So grateful for the experience, the sea, and the quiet reminder of how big and beautiful this world really is.Læs mere

  • The forest never slept 🌴🕷🐸

    16. januar, Australien ⋅ 🌧 29 °C

A couple of days completely off-grid in the Daintree. We stayed in a beach house right by the water—close enough to hear the waves, but not close enough to swim thanks to saltwater crocodiles. Giant spiders were everywhere, keeping us on our toes. Had a chill morning : Yahtzee by the pool, book in hand, nowhere else to be. I wandered the rainforest by day and again by night, surrounded by insects, glowing plants, smoking mushrooms, and sounds that never stopped. We ended it soaked in a proper tropical downpour—wild, humbling, and unforgettable.
Along the way I tried kangaroo and crocodile for the first time. Chef kiss to the kangaroo steak.

  • Road trippin' the coast

    19. januar, Australien ⋅ 🌙 26 °C

Coastal cruising with iced coffees in hand and all the cheesy fun—hello Big Mango and Big Gumboot. We rolled past endless banana and mango plantations, letting the day unfold one stop at a time. The night wrapped up perfectly back at our little apartment, turning into a full-on group hang with shareable snacks, drinks, music, singing, games, and lots of laughs. Welcome to Airlie! Next up the Whitsundays!Læs mere

  • Salt in my Hair, Whitsundays in the Air

    20. januar, Australien ⋅ 🌬 27 °C

Sun-soaked and salt-kissed, the day drifted by on a boat weaving through the Whitsunday Islands. We caught rays on deck, sang our hearts out between waves, and laughed as the boat bounced along like a roller coaster on the sea. A quick snorkel turned into more of a float-and-wash-ashore moment with the visibility being poor. The sun, the sand, and slowing down were exactly on point. Mom and I finished the day laid out in the pool with a drink in hand, sun-tired and happy, easing into a perfectly chill night ahead 🌊☀️.Læs mere

  • Jumped out of a plane, caught a wave

    22.–23. jan., Australien ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Started the day jumping out of a plane over Byron Bay, watching the coastline stretch out beneath us before the rush of freefall snapped everything into the moment. By the afternoon we’d traded parachutes for surfboards, chasing waves.
The next morning brought a hike out to the most eastern point of Australia and the lighthouse, where the wind was relentless enough to claim my brand-new hat😟, sending it straight off the cliffs. I contemplatd for a solod 15 minutesif I should jump the rails to get it, decided a $30 hat was not worth risking my life for. Had a quick stop to see some kangaroo out in the "wild" soccer field and then stopped at the "BIG" banana for a 1uixk lunch before heading on our way. Wrapped up the adventure in Port Macquarie with shrimp on the barbie, a few drinks flowing, and a card game that carried us "late" into the night.

  • Hike low, Climb high

    27. januar, Australien ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Woke up early and took on the endless stairs down into Wentworth Falls, tracing every small cascade that comes together to create its dramatic drop. Shoes off, straight into the water—cold, grounding, and wildly refreshing. A perfect way to start the day deep in the Blue Mountains.

From misty trails to city streets, we left the mountains behind and drove straight into Sydney. The afternoon unfolded on foot, wandering through Chinatown and down to Sydney Harbour, catching our first in-person glimpse of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Australia Day brought the city to life—the harbour buzzing, packed with people, energy everywhere.

As the sun dipped low, we made our way to the bridge for the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. Watching the sunset spill over the city from above was unreal—but the real magic came after. Music echoed through the harbour, drones lit up the sky, and fireworks exploded around us as we climbed, again and again, all seen from a bird’s-eye view. Reaching the summit felt surreal, and just as we headed back down, the final fireworks lit up the sky one last time.

We wrapped the night with a celebratory drink with others from the tour, then took the L back to the hotel—over 30,000 steps later, cawled into bed after midnight 😴.

    It was a long day.
    It was an epic day.
