They said that in order to get into the Imperial palace, you had to go with a guided tour and apply for an entry with your passport and everything.

Apparently the doors were ~200 lbs and required 3-4 people to open one
Also gravel was useful because it's reflective and not trespasser friendly

We asked the dearest cousin to take us to a place that wouldn't be over crowded
