130,000 unnamed soldiers lie under this monument. Bones visible through the windows. Crosses mark 14,000 identified soldiers actually buried here. What a humbling experience.

Actual natural trenches. Very muddy. Inside were so many war artifacts and photo boxes with hundreds and hundreds of photos by soldiers during the war (some of them very graphic and gory).

Earnest Casorso from Kelowna is buried in this cemetary as well as the youngest Canadian soldier, Gerard Dore. We have been doing charcoal rubs of many headstones.
Pegasus Bridge
