800 year old trees

After having a relaxed day at the beach yesterday, we decided to do some „sightseeing“ on Vancouver Island today. We went to MacMillan Provincial Park and Cathedral Grove to see some of the eldest Douglas Fir 🌲 in the world. The small area was easy to walk through and stunning to see how big these trees actually are. They are way taller than The Leaning Tower of Pisa! 76 Meters! And super wide as well. The pictures do not even tell the size of these giants 🤩.
Afterwards we went to Coombs a small town in the east side of Vancouver Island and visited the Goats on the Roof Old Farmers Market - Yes it is called that name because there are actual Goats 🐐 living on top of the market😅. So funny to see!

Nachdem wir gestern einen entspannten Tag am Strand verbracht hatten, beschlossen wir heute auf Vancouver Island „Sightseeing“ zu machen. Wir fuhren zum MacMillan Provincial Park und zum Cathedral Grove, um einige der ältesten Douglas-Tannen der Welt zu sehen. Das kleine Gebiet war schön und leicht zu durchlaufen und absolut atemberaubend zu sehen, wie groß diese Bäume tatsächlich sind. Sie sind viel höher als der schiefe Turm von Pisa! 76 Meter! Und super dick! Die Bilder zeigen die Größe dieser Riesen kaum.

Danach fuhren wir nach Coombs, einer kleinen Stadt auf der Ostseite von Vancouver Island, und besuchten den Goats on the Roof Old Farmers Market - der seinen charmanten Namen daher tragt, da tatsächlich Ziegen auf dem Dach leben! 🐐So lustig zu sehen!😅Meer informatie
