Sights of Sienna

Up early as we were off to have a full day (ish) in Sienna today. The sun was out and Alan had identified a really good parking spot .. so off we went. The day started with a great cup of coffee and local biscuits before purchasing our OPA, not OAP tickets for all of the bits linked to the cathedral. We decided to get a multimedia guide.. great idea as just enough information to digest in a short time. The pass lasts up to four days, but we only really had a few hours, but it was enough to give us a taster. The cathedral, crypt and baptiste were amazing as was the terrace in the museum.. Looked more like part of a set than an unfinished extension to one of the great cathedrals in Europe. So quick lunch, couldn't finish my wine.... and then off to the piazza del campo .. where they have the famous horse race, twice a year.. All of it was amazing .. Sienna you didn't disappoint.
