    Onslow

    6. oktober 2019, Australien ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Very small place. Another mine area. Mining salt. We saw the conveyor belt out to the shop yesterday when we went down to the other beach. Soo hot here yesterday. 43 degrees. In the aircon most of the day. Late afternoon drive to the beach when temp dropped to 36. Nothing much here, but a nice little caravan park with sea views.
Enjoying the aircon and Gary's catching up on washing everything while we have water. Next stop Exmouth area, Ningaloo Reef. Hard to get fresh water. We will have to conserve it.

  • Cleaverville

    30. september 2019, Australien ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

Free camping here. Lovely private site right st the beach. Just a short walk down the track. I got eaten by sandflys. I spray heaps but they seemed to get in the caravan through the flyscreens. Not a pleasant experience. Last day there was 41 degrees. Too hot. We had to carry the dogs across the sand to the water. Thank goodness for a lovely swim when the tide came in. Great rock pools for the dogs to paddle in.Læs mere

  • Cossack

    20. september 2019, Australien ⋅ 🌙 21 °C

We are staying 3 days here. Cossack is a Historic town. Built after the cyclone in 1872 which defeated the area. The town was built when th e gold rush was on and parking was a big thing here until it moved to Broome. The town of Wickham is only a few kilometres away on the way to Port Sampson. There are about 2,300 residents. The town is owned by Rio Tinto mining. The whole area is mining, including Dampier, Karratha & Tom Price.Læs mere

  • BARNHILL STATION

    6. september 2019, Australien ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

5 days. Absolutely loved it. It got a bit windy the last couple if days. Thought about staying longer but the day we were due to leave the wind was worse. Sand blowing through the campsite. Pretty unpleasant, so we moved on. Spent some late afternoons on the beach around 4pm. Best time of day as the sun came down. Met a lovely family on the beach from Port Hedland, she gave me some information on where to stay etc. Will be stocking up there. Attended the roast night which was lovely. 3 course meal for $18 each and met some great people. All from Perth, heading home after spending the winter in Broome.
Fantastic rock formations and caves on the station. We were allowed to drive to the beach and park due to my hip issues. Lovely staff. I did attempt the cliff going down on the first day and big walk then the steps up. I made it but the pain set in. Drove down the next few times. We had homemade pies & a vanilla slice for lunch on Monday as a treat, all made on the station. Yum. Loved our stay.

    27. august 2019, Indian Ocean ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

What a place. Just love it. It's not what we expected. We are staying at the Discovery Park at Town beach. A water site. Just perfect. We love swimming with the dogs here. Safe and water very calm. We have missed the ocean so it was fabulous to see and feel it again. The colour of The water and landscapes are amazing. Wanted to go to Dampier Penninsula to free camp and look around but we've heard the unsealed road is 86km of corrogation. Not good, so have to give it a miss. There's a church up there that has an alter built of shells. Looks lovely in the photos.Læs mere

  • Wyndham

    23. august 2019, Australien ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

We were going to Parys Creek Reserve campground, we arrived to find it soo dry, no water in the creek. I don't think I've ever witnessed anything so dry yet. Only one caravan there. Another couple arrived when we did, we all looked around and said no. Let's carry on to wyndham. Glad we did
Lovely campsite. The races are on here today. A great country turnout. Girls in short summer dresses, guys in out back looking clothes, jeans shirts and a hat. Very casual. We went down to have a look at sunset. They were having fun, drinks and Barbie & loud music. Very country style night. Looked like fun.

  • Lake Argyle

    18. august 2019, Australien ⋅ 🌙 21 °C

Lake Argyle was absolutely stunning. Best place to visit soo far. We were staying 2 days but ended up staying 3. We did the sunset cruise. We saw crocodiles running themselves on the banks. The lake is 70km long and 30km wide. It's huge. We only covered 20km and we could just see water as far as the eye could see.
We drove across the dam wall one night and took photos at sunset also. I managed to capture the best photos ever with reflections on the rocks onto the water. Fabulous.

They were getting to borderline. Great place to visit. Very interesting story and lovely things for sale. The tables at the cafe were amazing. Polishing rock slabs. Beautiful.Læs mere

  • Tumbling Waters

    31. juli 2019, Australien ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

We spent a week here. Lovely park and I managed a few swims in the pool. It warm quite warm. On Sunday my birthday we went to Litchfield National Park. The CP kept an eye on our dogs. Great day exploring places I could manage to climb and walk with my hip. Our first stop the water hole was closed just after we left due to a fresh water croc knipping someone. It was closed for several days trying to find it or trap it with no success, so it was opened again. We saw the old homestead, more waterfalls and water holes and the huge termite mound and what look like a grave site but was a different sort of termite mound. A great stay. We loved the Caravan Park and area. Very hot days around 35 to 39 degrees most days.Læs mere

  • Wagait Beach

    28. juli 2019, Australien ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

3 nights at this place called Beachfront Beauty. It did live up to its name. Private property, $20 night, no power. A nice sea breeze because it's almost on the beach. Walk to front of house and straight on the beach.
We went for a drive out to the WW2 crash site. Malady crash in January 1941 killing 6 crew. Then we went looking f or the track out to the beach to head to cox peninsula lighthouse. Drove along the beach for awhile and still couldn't see it in the distance. I had no r reception to bring up the map and the sand was becoming soft so we decided for safety sake to turn around. We knew we had to cross a river at the shallow end and were a bit uncertain of the too. A great drive and walk on the beach and the dogs got to swim safely in the rockpools when the tide was out. No sign of any salt water crocs running on the beach anywhere.
