  • Kynuna

    June 22, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

Stopped in winton at the Bakery for lunch. The dogs loved the walk up the street past all the people having lunch at the pub. Had lunch at the Bakery. Beautiful pies and a piece of hummingbird cake each washed down with a lovely coffee. The small town was full of caravaners. The new Waltzing Matilda Centre looked busy. D3cided not sure to stay, we needed to fill water tanks and wikicamps comments said the water was bore water and smelt of sulphur. Got fuel and headed to kynuna for overnight stop at the pub. $20 a night no power. Filled water tanks. Took the road to Julia Creek that cut through nearby. Only a narrow road. Only passed 3 caravans, 1 motorholme a 4x4 in the hour and half trio. Evidence if flooding through here too. Alot of road have been replaced.Read more

Arrived in Mt Isa for 2 days to stock up. Found out shops and supermarkets not open Sunday, so did a mad dash shopping and got my massage for my sore shoulder. Sunday went to Bunnings. Very small. Mt Isa has a population of around 22,000 people so we are surprised there's not much here. Went up lookout also. A few Jurgens caravans have arrived and are staying at another caravan park. The Coates came over for a visit for dinner. We had a lovely night. The caravan parks are very busy. Vans are crammed in at these parks. No choice. No Free camping anywhere near here.Read more

    July 4, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Drove into Camooweal to dump point and water fill. Got gas refill at puma servo and coffee. $62 for both. Quoted $50 for gas. The most we have paid soo far, but we have been expecting that. We are along way from nowhere. The place was soo busy. A helicopter came in while I was waiting for the gas to fill. That was exciting. I was told it was from one of the stations. Guess the farmer drops into town in helicopter, so much quicker.Read more
