On our way to Gisborne we drove through the Waioeka Gorge and passed Tauranga Bridge where we stretched our legs for a bit.

We went into the City Art Gallery in Hastings and had a look around the art deco building in the inner city.
Te Mata Peak I

We went for a hike around Te Mata Park.
Local legend says the Peaks look like a Maori chief who died trying to win the hand of a local rival chief's daughter. Jake thinks they look like a dragon.

Hobbit's Hideaway

We found the Hobbit's Hideaway on Mount Victoria. The big tree underneath which the Hobbits in LOTR are hiding isn't actually there but Jake and Joe still had a lot of fun, as you can see 😁🌲
