Jefferson was an amazing, complex founding father of this political experiment; this great country of ours.
We've still got work to do. The same political games were going on back then too. The key is for the people remain involved and be vigilant.
It wouldn't hurt to have a leader like Jefferson nowadays.Meer informatie

Visited outside of Washington memorial and White House.
Later, found a sports bar to watch 2nd half of Blazers/Warriors basketball game. Blazers played well for 3 quarters before losing.

Visited the Library of Congress and Supreme Court building. Had a Capital building tour lead by an Oregon congresswoman staff member.

St Louis Gateway Arch

We didn't have time to go up in the Arch, but we walked around, visited old courthouse, and watched the movie on how the Arch was built. Very impressive!!!!

Onondaga Cave state park campground

Got on a cave tour just as we arrived at Onondaga cave in Missouri.
It has been raining since we left the Arch. After the cave tour, we setup the tent in the rain. The rain has been continuous, without any breaks 😣Meer informatie

No rain all day while we were driving. Rain found us again just before we got to the campsite.
It was no fun setting up in the rain and wind; then had to make dinner 😣

On our way to Denver, we stopped for gas and met another teardrop 😃
The teardrop owner is heading to Bryce Canyon to volunteer for 3 months. We hope to see him again when we are there this Tuesday and Wednesday.
Visited with Jackie's college girlfriend and her husband in Denver. Made it there just before snow storm hit. Very happy to be in a house today.Meer informatie

Ran a very informal 5K, which included breakfast and 2 drinks afterwards at Telegraph bistro.
Dill flavored Bloody Mary's were tasty and the Mamosa wasn't bad either 😆

Green River state park campground

Drove through Colorado today on I70, at one point reaching an elevation of 11,000 ft. We are staying in Green River, Utah tonight. As we arrived, we were welcomed by new friends in a 2009 T@B teardrop that had the galley in the back, which I had not seen before on those models.
We saw another teardrop pull in later that evening, but didn't get to talk to them.Meer informatie

Bryce Canyon North campground

We arrived around 2 pm and we're concerned that we wouldn't get a campsite at these 1st come campgrounds. We looked in North campground. Loop D was closed, limiting our options, but we found an acceptable site by the loop C bathroom, although we learned later that it is currently closed 😣

Navajo and Queens Garden loop hike

Did an amazing hike today in Bryce Canyon. Started at Sunset Point. Went down switchbacks on Navajo trail and back up the Queen Garden trail to Sunrise Point, then walked back along the rim back to Sunset Point.Meer informatie

Fairyland loop hike in Bryce Canyon

Before doing the hike, we visited all the nearby view points. They were all very impressive.
In the afternoon we did a beautiful, strenuous 8 mile hike on the Fairyland loop in Bryce Canyon. Really happy that we were able to do this hike; it was one amazing view after another.Meer informatie

Zion National Park

We did a day trip to Zion National Park. The Narrows was closed due to high water flow. Even if it was open, we wouldn't have had time to do it. We walked to the end of the river walk and went to the Weeping Rock, but that was it. 😣
We definitely need to come back again for a few days to explore the park properly.Meer informatie
