Lake Havasu State Park

Made it to Arizona.
Saw 5 ultra lights flying by our lakeside campsite.
Visited London Bridge and had an adventure biking back in the dark without lights. We'll bring our headlights next time we bike around sunset.Okumaya devam et

Plateau Point, Grand Canyon

Did a 12 mile round trip hike to Plateau Point in the Grand Canyon. 3080 ft elevation from the rim, 8 hour hike. Great unique views of the canyon. Totally drained at the end.

Albuquerque KOA Kampground

We had our first bone head mistake of the trip, we lost our 30 amp power cord.
It seems that we didn't latch the rear hatch of the teardrop when we left Lake Havasu. On the way to the Grand Canyon, the hatch opened up on the highway. We didn't think we lost anything. Our box of wine was still there 😅 No electric hook-up at Grand Canyon, so we didn't realize what had happened until we got to Albuquerque and couldn't find the electrical cable.
The KOA campground was kind enough to lend us one.
We'll have to buy one at an RV store along the way.
Next stop, OK City.
Update: There was an RV store along couple of blocks from the KOA where we had a 15% off coupon for the cable. It was still an expensive mistake.Okumaya devam et

Met some follow campers that had a teardrop similar to ours, just a year older. It was interesting to see how they setup thier galley. Shared some good conversations around the campfire.

Visited Beale street in Memphis. The pedestrian section is only 1 block long. Went into A. Schwab and tried on an Irish hat that Jackie wouldn't let me buy for some reason 😆
Had a Cajun lunch with local beers.

Mammoth Cave campground, KY

We had our 2nd bone head mistake of the trip. We left our 2 outdoor mats on the picnic table of the Memphis campground when we left for Mammoth Cave 😣
We dropped the camper at the site and went straight to the visitors center just in time to catch a short tour that was starting in 5 minutes. Tour was led by ranger Rick and went through historical entrance.Okumaya devam et

Mammoth Caves National Park

Did the Domes and Dripstones tour today; yesterday evening, we did the Mammoth Passage tour that took us in the historic entrance.
Some heavy downpour rains in the evening; tent go a little wet inside, but teardrop was mostly dry except for vent we left open.
Went to a Mexican restaurant bar to watch final of NCAA men's basketball, but had to leave before the end because it was closing time. We had to check our phones to learn the unfortunate outcome 😣Okumaya devam et

Gezgin Mammoth Caves has > 400 miles of mapped passages. The longest cave on earth. The yellow lines on the map are the cave passages. Many more passages are expected to be discovered in the future.

Racoon Cave

Did the 3 1/2 hour cave tour. Only those with adventurous spirit and decent shape should do this. Forget about it if you are claustrophobic!!! Many very tight places we had to squeeze through. We had to turn our heads sideways as we crawled through the "pancake" so our helmet wouldn't get stuck.
Lots of water. We saw water falls and had to walk through a stream for a little bit.

Visited World of Coca-cola to kill some time. It had some history to it, but was mostly a giant commercial 😣
Visited the aquarium with family members. It was impressive.

Skidaway Island state park campground

This campground is just outside Savannah GA.
We did the tour where we could jump off and back on the trolley. There were a lot of tourists out there. We were told this tour company handles an average of 1000 people a day in Savannah.

We made friends with T@B teardrop owners at the campsite.
We saw the outside of the NC capital building, visited the NC historical museum, and observed a protest.

It's a very nice place. Too bad we couldn't stay longer.

Richmond, VA, Segway tour

Did a 1 hour Segway tour of Richmond. This was the 1st time for both of us on a segway, but we had no problems. It is really easy once you get the hang of it 😆
