Saint Martin

Saint Martin was the best island we visited and it seemed the most developed. Half the island is owned by the French and the other half by the Netherlands. The highlight was visiting the beach 20 feet from the airport runway. I think this is as close as you can legally get to a plane taking off. If you like going to the beach and spotting planes, this is a must. The bus driver said "This is the famous beach where everyone wants to get sand blasted for some reason." At one point a co-pilot in a commercial airplane was turning to take off and we could clearly see the pilot in the airplane and we could see him wave to us. I waved back then realized everyone on the beach was waving back at the pilot and then everyone started laughing at how unusual the whole situation is.
