  • Antarctica

    February 12, 2024, South Atlantic Ocean ⋅ 🌬 1 °C

    1. Is an iceberg that is as long as the cruise ship and 80 percent of the iceberg is under the water.
    2. Another smaller iceberg.
    3. Blue ice in a glacier. The blue ice has had the air squeezed out of it.
    4. There is a cruise ship on the right in the picture to give you an idea of scale.
    5. The cruise ship is now in the middle of the picture.
    6. Is the Brazil south pole research station.
    7. Is a different country research station.

  • Falkland Islands

    February 14, 2024 in Falkland Islands ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

These are baby penguins which are molting. Apparently it takes three weeks to molt and they can't go in the water to eat while molting. The guide said the penguins get cranky towards the end of the third week.
The Falkland Islands are very British.

  • Buenos Airs

    February 21, 2024 in Argentina ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Some things are the same price as elsewhere, other things are a lot cheaper. Load of laundry in Canada cost me 30 dollars, load of laundry in Buenos Aires cost me 4 dollars.
    1. Government building
    2. Famous cemetery
    3. Obelisk because why not?
    4. Church
    5. Pedestrians bridge, there is a large river that end near Buenos Aires with a lot of silt.
    6. Nicest book store I have ever been in. Was built inside old theater.
    7. Nice natural history museum, but everything was in Spanish.
    8. This 1,000 paso note is the largest denomination they have in Argentina and is worth about one US dollar. Argentina has 200 percent inflation, so this note will be worth 25 US cents next year.

  • Cerro Tronadot

    March 23, 2024 in Argentina ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

Since I have been in Argentina they have come out with a new higher denomination bill worth about 2 US dollars. That is what high inflation looks likes. Why they did not come out with a 20,000 paso note instead is beyond me.Read more

  • Cerro Tronador Volcano

    March 23, 2024 in Argentina ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

This is a huge ancient volcano. I am taking the pictures standing inside the volcano looking up. The walls of the caldera are so big they have a glacier on them. What is unique about this glacier is that half way down the walls it breaks up and then reforms a new glacier with dirt mixed in, so it is called a black glacier.Read more

  • Iguazu Falls Argentina Side

    March 25, 2024 in Brazil ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

It looks like this area had a large lava flow that was fifty feet high, happen on two separate occasions, which flattered the whole area. The water does not seem to have any silt to carve a channel. To give you an idea how big the falls are, the second to last picture has a boat with about 30 people in it and at the top of the falls is a platform with people standing around and that picture represents about 25% of the overall water falls. The Iguazu Falls is truly massive.Read more

  • Iguazu Falls Animals

    March 25, 2024 in Argentina ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

The falls are in the middle of a jungle and the only insects here are pretty much just Butterflies. Where are all the Fire Ants, Mosquitos, Killer Bees, Cicadas, and Scorpions. I took the last picture to try and give you an idea just how wide the river is right before the falls. It seemed like the river was waist deep all the way across and it is just under a mile wide.Read more

  • Sao Paulo

    March 29, 2024 in Brazil ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

I have never seen a drinking fountain that you are not suppose to drink from. They even call it a drinking fountain.
Sao Paulo has a population of 12 million and it seems like they are all very poor living in unfinished brick houses. I am staying at a hotel close to the cruise port. The hotel reviews are good but people say the neighborhood is unsafe. I had a ten minute walk from the bus terminal to the hotel along a busy roadway at 4:30 in the afternoon and some guy pulls a knife out to try and get some money from. I was very surprised and the guy seemed even more surprised that I did not flinch when he pulled the knife out and he quickly hide the knife. So yeah, I am not recommending visiting Sao Paulo.Read more

  • Rio de Janeiro

    April 3, 2024 in Brazil ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

When I left the ship this morning I did not realize just how far of a walk it would be from the ship to the statue of Christ. Which is why I am glad I took the bus and then the train to get up here. It turns out Rio has smog and the amazing pictures you see on the internet are after a rain storm.Read more

  • Casablanca

    April 12, 2024 in Falkland Islands ⋅ 🌬 6 °C

We had a passenger jump or fall into the water while we were in port and did not survive the fall.
I saw another passenger's pictures of Casablanca and he went to a much nicer area then what I saw.

  • Hassan II Mosque Inside

    April 14, 2024 in Morocco ⋅ 🌙 20 °C

The mosque is truly massive. It holds 20,000 men on the first floor and 5,000 women on the second floor and 80,000 outside. Apparently during Ramada the mosque is completely full. I have never seen a bigger religious building before. The basement is where worshipers wash their hands and feet before entering the mosque.
    The roof opens during warship.
