35 stores high from the water line and 7 miles wide.
To give an idea how big the glacier is, the ship in the picture I think has 1,000 passengers.
There are moments on this cruise where it feels like there no other passengers on the ship.Read more
TravelerWithout the ship for context, I would have no way to appreciate the size of the glacier. Where are the other passengers? Gambling? Drinking? Sleeping? Feeding?

This ship passed us and arrived at the next port before us. I guess if you pay more for your cruise, you get more time in port. This is another example of what I like about this cruise. While cruising there is very little vibration from the engine, which I now think is because we are moving slower then other ships.Read more

Weather has had a big impact on my enjoyment of these Alaska cruises. The first two weeks the weather was great, this week most days have been light rain with low clouds. If you are thinking about doing an Alaska cruise I recommend booking everything no more than three days in advance, unless it is fully refundable, so you can make sure your cruise is the best it can be. I also recommend going on a smaller cruise ship. The smaller cruise ships get closer to the things you want to see.Read more

If you use the image enhancing software Hollywood has you will be able to see a seven mile wide, 35 story high glacier. This is why you want to book your Alaska cruise three days before departure so you can make sure there will be nice weather.Read more

This walking bridge is one of the more interesting things to see in Frankfurt. Frankfurt seems like a great city to live and work in, but I do not recommend visiting it. They are setting up for a festival this weekend and it looks like it will be a lot of fun.Read more
