Days passed on Langkawi🏝

Ive spend the last couple of days on the Island Langkawi, which is known for its nice beaches, duty free shops and clubbing scene.
Getting there was a different thing.
We had a few problens with the bus, that arrived very late and almost didn't catched the ferry but in the end it worked out.

At our Hostel, called the House of Lions, we were warmly greeted and welcomend.
I jokely said back then when I was looking up the Hostels that this could be a Game of Thrones reference, cause nearby was another Hostel called "House of Wolfs".
Turns out I was right cause the owner, Mantra, is a huge fan of the series and already plans the third Hostel, which will be called "House of Dragons".
Loved that one and the stay overally, there are many Volunters working and all of them were super nice, especially Nick and Thamy, which we had a few nice evenings with.

We rented us ourself some scooters for two days and explored on the few dry hours of each days the Island, cause I gotta say we didn't have much luck with the weather but we surely made the best out of it.

We went to the Skycab, a Rope Car with the steepest slope (42°) in the world apperantly (made by Doppelmayr🇦🇹) which took us to the Skybridge.
Walking over named bridge and looking down to the trees that appeared very small so far below could really test the Fear of heights from some people.
The view over the Island and the sea that surrounded us was great.
I surprisingly saw that the West coast was very clouded on most of its parts and that the East side was the sunny side.
You can guess, on which side our Hostel was.

When it rained, we spent the time chilling, having small walks or had the luck to enjoy some good meals in a restaurant at that time. Ive even been to a Gym and was happy to get those muscles back to do some work.

One place I want to mention that fascinated me was the Temurun Waterfall.
Even tho it rained a little bit, we had a swim in the small lake at its bottom and even a shower in the waterfall itself which was refreshing cold. Of course there was a monkey that tried to steal our stuff but we are not amateurs anymore and were prepared.
With some dominant screeming, chest bumping and one or two good stone throws in the direction of it we scared him off.

The rest of the time we did some chilling, resting and enjoying the time with each others. So nothing too crazy.

Right now we are on a ferry back to the Mainland where a bus should take us to Ipoh, the next destination.

Ich habe die letzten Tage auf der Insel Langkawi verbracht, die für ihre schönen Strände, Duty-Free-Shops und Clubbing-Szene bekannt ist.
Dorthin zu gelangen war etwas anderes.
Wir hatten ein paar Probleme mit dem Bus, der sehr spät ankam und haben dadurch fast nicht die Fähre erwischt, aber am Ende klappte es.

In unserem Hostel, das House of Lions genannt wird, wurden wir herzlich begrüßt und willkommen geheißen.
Ich sagte damals scherzhaft, als ich die Hostels raussuchte, dass dies eine Game of Thrones-Referenz sein könnte, denn in der Nähe befand sich ein weiteres Hostel namens "House of Wolfs".
Es stellte sich heraus, dass ich Recht hatte, weil die Besitzerin Mantra ein großer Fan der Serie ist und bereits das dritte Hostel plant, das "House of the Dragons" heißen wird.
Liebte das und den Aufenthalt insgesamt, es gab viele Freiwillige, die arbeiten und alle waren super nett, vor allem Nick und Thamy, mit denen wir ein paar nette Abende hatten.

Wir mieteten uns zwei Roller für zwei Tage und erkundeten in dem wenigen trockenen Stunden eines jeden Tages die Insel, denn ich muss sagen, dass wir nicht viel Glück mit dem Wetter hatten, aber wir haben sicherlich das Beste daraus gemacht.

Wir fuhren zum Skycab, einem Seilwagen mit der steilsten Steigung (42°) der Welt (hergestellt von Doppelmayr🇦🇹), der uns zur Skybridge brachte.
Wenn man über die genannte Brücke geht und zu den Bäumen hinunterschaut, die so weit unten sehr klein erschienen, könnte das die Höhenangst einiger Leute wirklich auf die Probe stellen.
Der Blick über die Insel und das Meer, das uns umgab, war großartig.
Überraschenderweise sah ich, dass die Westküste größtenteils bewölkt war und dass die Ostseite die Sonnenseite war.
Ratet, auf welcher Seite unser Hostel war.
Als es regnete, verbrachten wir die Zeit mit Chillen, machten kleine Spaziergänge oder hatten das Glück, zu dieser Zeit gute Mahlzeiten in einem Restaurant zu genießen. Ich war sogar in einem Fitnessstudio und war froh, die Muskeln wieder mit etwas Arbeit zu beglücken.

Ein Ort, den ich erwähnen möchte, der mich fasziniert hat, war der Temurun-Wasserfall.
Auch wenn es etwas regnete an dem Tag hatten wir ein Bad in dem kleinen See am Fuße der Fälle und sogar eine Dusche im Wasserfall selbst, die erfrischend kalt war. Natürlich gab es einen Affen, der versuchte, unsere Sachen zu stehlen, aber wir sind keine Amateure mehr und waren vorbereitet.
Mit dominanten Schreien, Bruststoßen und ein oder zwei guten Steinwürfen in dessen Richtung haben wir ihn abgeschreckt.

Den Rest der Zeit haben wir uns entspannt, ausgeruht und die Zeit miteinander genossen. Also nichts zu verrückt.

Im Moment sind wir auf einer Fähre zurück zum Festland, wo ein Bus uns nach Ipoh, dem nächsten Ziel, bringen sollte.
