Start der Atlantiküberquerung ⛵🗺️

Am 05.12.2024 machten wir uns um 17:00 Uhr gemeinsam mit der Johann Smidt auf den Weg. Nach fast 7 Wochen an Bord war die Zeit nun endlich gekommen: Atlantiküberquerung 🌎
Etwa 2 Wochen planen wir für die Überfahrt und hoffen demnach, dass wir am 21.12.24 in Martinique vor Anker gehen werden.
Was bisher noch nicht kommuniziert wurde - auch die parallele Atlantiküberquerung mit zwei Schiffen findet zum allerersten Mal im Rahmen des Ocean Colleges statt. Zur Feier dieses Ereignisses wurde sich eine spannende Challenge überlegt: Das Schiff, welches als erstes den Atlantik überquert und in Martinique vor Anker geht, bekommt als Belohnung 15 kg Nutella 🌰🥳
Das bedeutet: Wenn dieser Eintrag online geht, wird sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt hoffentlich die gesamte Besatzung der Regina Maris freudestrahlend in den Armen liegen und Pläne schmieden, was wir mit diesem Preis anstellen möchten 📝
Bis dahin heißt es allerdings:
Wachsam sein, während der Watch alles geben und Neptun nicht entzürnen 🔱
Bei allem Streben, diesen Wettkampf für uns zu entscheiden, freuen wir uns natürlich darauf, wenn beide Schiffe wohlbehalten in Martinique ankommen (und wir die Johnny mit Vanilleeis und Nutellasoße freudig in Empfang nehmen können 🤗) 🫂

Die Drohnenvideos von Maxim zum Start der Atlantiküberquerung (von denen hier leider nur max. 2 hochgeladen werden können) und der fantastische Sonnenuntergang, in den wir direkt hineingesegelt sind 🌅⛵

On 05.12.2024, we set off together with the Johann Smidt at 17:00. After almost 7 weeks on board, the time had finally come: Atlantic crossing 🌎
We are planning about 2 weeks for the crossing and therefore hope to drop anchor in Martinique on 21.12.24.
What has not yet been communicated - the parallel Atlantic crossing with two ships is also taking place for the very first time as part of the Ocean College. To celebrate this event, an exciting challenge has been devised: The ship that crosses the Atlantic first and drops anchor in Martinique will receive 15 kg of Nutella as a reward 🌰🥳
This means that when this entry goes online, the entire crew of the Regina Maris will hopefully be beaming with joy and making plans for what we want to do with this prize 📝
Until then, however:
Be vigilant, give it your all during the watch and don't anger Neptune 🔱
Despite all our efforts to win this competition, we are of course looking forward to both ships arriving safely in Martinique (and we can happily welcome the Johnny with vanilla ice cream and Nutella sauce 🤗) 🫂

My personal highlight:
Maxim's drone videos at the start of the Atlantic crossing (of which unfortunately only a maximum of 2 can be uploaded here) and the fantastic sunset that we sailed straight into 🌅⛵
