    Dinner with Friends

    Walked up the hill to the small town above us, out the back of our hotel and up the alley. We entered Lo Stuzzichino, we had dinner across the way the night before and enjoyed the music from their restaurant so we decided this would be a great place. From the moment we sat down there was lots of music, and happy people. We found out right away that it was family owned and run. They grow all their produce. They all work there and the son is the front face of the restaurant. Mom and dad are back in the kitchen, but mom still runs the show. John decided he would go back and ask her about her meatballs. The rest is history. Dinner was great, the place was full. We will be going back tomorrow night for our last dinner here. Such a beautiful and restful place.Читать далее

    Last night in Sant’Agata

    Drove into Sorrento for mass. Beautiful service with organ music. Walked around a bit in town. John was on a mission for shopping, but just couldn’t find what he was looking for. Came back and laid by the pool till we lost the sun. Came back to our room and made some packing changes. Headed up to have dinner with Mimmo & Dora and their dad & mom Filomena and Paolo. Another great dinner and the entertainment tonight was the musician and the four tables + filled with Australians traveling on a tour, and guess what they sing. What a wonderful evening and we got to meet so many of them. Filomena wanted us to come back domani ❤️ . We will head out tomorrow to our next destination. ❤️🍋❤️🍋❤️Читать далее

    Amalfi Coast to Ravello

    Got up to rain, loaded up the car after a leisure breakfast, said good bye 😘 to our friends from Hotel Jaccarino, Stanley Tucci and Marcelo from under the Tuscan Sun, ironically they both work there. Headed down the Amalfi coast and John was ready for the drive. Had lunch in Maiori and then backtracked to Ravello. Stunning view, the journey is just getting better ❤️🥰❤️Читать далее

    Ravello Day 2 Explore

    Started the day with breakfast and a view. Thunder storms and lightning last night and blue skies this morning. Headed down to the Duomo di Ravello, toured the museum below and went into church, they are doing restoration, so interesting watching the process. Walked down the winding path and then up to the gardens of the Villa Cimbrone. The most breathtaking views. Enjoyed a lemon granate and then back down and up to our hotel, John choose to swim. I choose to sit in the sun and read. Had veal Marsala for dinner and chatted with two girls traveling for two weeks.
    This place is very magical and restful. Tomorrow brings a new adventure. Thank you God for what you provide for us on our journey 🙏❤️🙏    Читать далее

    Crossing the country of Italy

    Did you know you can cross from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Adriatic Sea in 4hrs and 6min. Drive over the highest mountains and the windiest roads to cross a country from shore to shore. Once again always in amazement of Gods creation. So blessed to be on this journey 🥰🙏🥰Читать далее

    Pescara

    Pescara to Ravenna

    After yesterdays day of travel and our laundry catch up in the evening, in the very upscale “Speed Queen” I might add, we grabbed pizza and called it an early night. Got on the road early, we have a long drive as we head north today. Beautiful day to drive up the coast through the small towns. We had lunch in Rimimi. Interesting as you see all the seaside towns closing up for winter. Most are like ghost towns. This afternoon we are in Ravenna on the beach in Punta. Blessed with another day of safe travels and always grateful 😇 for what we have been given 🙏.Читать далее

    Punta Marina

    Stayed another day in this cute beach community. Wind surfers in the sea, windy but almost 80 degrees. Drove up and down the coast and enjoyed how quiet it is. The cruise ship that docks is huge, Norwegian Cruise Line. We enjoyed the thermal baths last night, and bubbling pools. I think our sunny weather might be leaving. Headed to Padua in the morning.     St. Anthony of Padua

    On the road this morning to Padua. The Pontifical Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua is a Catholic church and minor basilica in Padua, Veneto, Northern Italy, dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua. So very beautiful inside. We went to mass, and then toured the church. Very interesting, St. Anthony of Padua was exhumed in 1263, 32 years after his death. At that time, his remains had completely decomposed with the curious exception of his tongue, which was taken as a sign of his gift for speaking and teaching about the word of God. The central niche preserves three important relics of St Anthony of Padua. These include his lower jaw, his incorrupt tongue, and cartilage from his larynx. All three of these relics are used in speech and reflect the saint's great ability as a preacher. We received a piece of relic from a garment that had touched his tongue.
    The Franciscan Friars are the order in the church. They answer questions and do confessions after the mass. Enjoyed the day and headed north.    Читать далее

    Verona

    Went to Verona. A short walk into the town, takes you towards Juliet’s famous balcony, located in a courtyard on Via Cappello. The house dates to the 1300s. It’s supposedly the place that inspired William Shakespeare to write his tragic love story that has become so iconic in modern-day romantic culture.
    The entryway has an arched ceiling and is covered in love-note graffiti. Visitors have even stuck paper notes on the walls in some places – known as Juliet’s wall. Walked through the bustle of open air shops and piazzas filled with tables of people enjoying coffee and gelato. We made our way to Basilica di Santa Anastasia, Saturday vigil mass was starting at 6:30 we decided to go. We had a wonderful surprise, the choir that sang sounded like the Mormon Tabernacle choir. It was so beautiful. How blessed we were today to be able to celebrate morning mass and vigil mass. Thank you God for a beautiful day 🙏🥰🙏 Dinner & dessert and home to bed.    Читать далее

    Lake Garda

    Left Verona this morning and drove to Lake Garda. First stop Peschiera del Garda. Walked around for awhile and then took a boat trip to Sirmione Peninsula, beautiful day warm and fabulous views. Then drove up to Lazise and checked out that town. Had lunch in Bardolino and now we got a room in Garda. The room looks out at the lake and has a balcony, which we will leave open tonight. Who would think at the end of October the weather would be like this.Читать далее

    Innsbruck

    We drove up to the end of the lake today and headed north to Austria. The lake drive was beautiful and no traffic. We arrived in Innsbruck and made a reservation. Unpacked and walked along the river to old town. John assures me we were here in 2016. I usually remember everything, so I looked back on FB where I would have posted and yes we were here two days after Bub was born. So we walked into town and had a delicious dinner and will save the town tour for tomorrow. Since I can’t remember it should be fun. 😊 The soup I had was beef bone broth with a semolina dumpling. It was delicious. They had chocolates on our pillow. Until tomorrow 🙏 thank you God for all the beauty that unfolded before us today.Читать далее

    Innsbruck Day2

    Woke up at 3:30 am and looked out the window, I thought I was in the movie “The Birds” the trees across the street were filled with crows, they would fly away and then come back. Finally fell back asleep, and up again early. Had a nice breakfast and drove into town wandered for a couple hours it was very cool out. Went to the laundromat and did our laundry met a group of kids in high school in Canada that were here perfecting skiing and snowboarding tricks with their coaches. Came back to hotel and put away laundry and walked back to town for dinner. I had beef broth with crepes sliced fine like a noodle. John had goulash (soup, stew) and sausage and sauerkraut. I had veal schnitzel , it was delicious. We walked back and on the last bridge is a crucifix with Christ, what a great reminder to people as they go back and forth across the bridge that Jesus died for everyone

    Cinderella’s Castle

    Drove to Neuschwanstein Castle today the ride was beautiful. We parked and took the shuttle to the top. We hiked in and it was so beautiful. Couldn’t go inside it’s under renovation and the tickets they do sell are booked out till November. Hiked out caught the shuttle and headed towards Munich. Stopped and had the most wonder lunch and a fabulous view. Headed out and we are staying in Senden Germany.

    Wurzburg

    We left Senden and headed for Ulm Minster. It is a Lutheran church. It is currently the tallest church in the world. The church is the fifth-tallest structure built before the 20th century, with a steeple measuring 161.53 metres. We then drove north to Wurzburg. Wandered around and had lunch and then booked a room for the night. Had a great dinner, and will head to Frankfurt in the morning. Need to repack and get things ready to make our last treck home.     Here we Go!!!

    Time to go home

    It’s time to pack up the bags. We were headed for the Holy Land and God placed us on another path. It was different path for sure, but it was a path with opportunities and lessons and a lot of Joy as to what’s in the world if you sit back and enjoy the journey wherever the destination takes you. We have flown 11,989 miles. We have driven 2,721 miles, walked 149 miles. We been on 3 Continents, 9countries, stayed in 19 hotels, met so many great people and created memories to last a lifetime. Thank you God for making all this possible 🙏❤️🙏
