Made it to Baamonde. 13 miles, 1100’ ascent, 1300’ descent. Only 100 km to Santiago de Compostela. Beautiful sunny fall day.

RejsendeFor some pilgrims, the moment they give up the weight of the rock they have been carrying is very emotional. They pick up a rock in the first week of the Camino symbolizing what they have been struggling with, and carry it in their backpack the whole way. They reflect during the weeks walking in quiet nature. Then near the end, they give it up, put their rock on a cruceiro. This is the end of part 2 of their Camino. Part 3 is the joy of the spirit - moving on from that.
