    September 30, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

This is the highest point of our trip. A momentous moment, every pilgram brings a stone (or something special) to leave behind, a symbol of the past, the journey, and what lies ahead.

I brought my rock with me from Australia, collected on my last walk with dad and Lauren before my holiday and today I leave it here as I move forward on my journey, my pilgrimage.Read more

  • Day 26. Molinaseca

    September 30, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

A long day, about 30kms, mostly downhill, mostly rocks, definitely steep. But I made it, had a few moment where I was just too exhausted to keep going, it's hard to stop halfway down a mountain side!
So now, showered, in bed resting up before dinner, an absolutely beautiful albergue, so far the bed have been pretty good

  • 28. La Laguna

    October 2, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

A 29kms day. All uphill through the mountains, very very challenging. But video called Dad at lunchtime from the top of the mountains to wish him a happy birthday, very emotional but lovely just what I needed to keep going. Tomorrow we climb the rest of the mountain.! Buen CaminoRead more

  • Day 30. SARRIA!

    October 4, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

The official start of the last 100kms (needed to complete to receive the official completion certificate) here we go.

I must say, today was my day. We left later, something I wasn't sure I wanted to do at all, but I stayed back from the group to walk by myself and it was just what I needed. I feel like I owned today, it was a hard day (lots of up and down mountains) but for me it was my easiest, I didn't struggle mentally to get though the day and before I knew it, we where in Sarria.

Now after a shower, lunch and a big walk around town (as if a 20km walk here wasn't enough 😂😂) a rest in bed before I pack my bag for the morning and head out to dinner.

Only 5 walking days to go, 5 days, I can't believe we are at this point already.

Today I am more proud of myself then I have ever been !!

    Buen Camino!!

  • Day 31. Portomarin

    October 5, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Wow today is a milestone day.
    1. A very busy day , full of new starters & day packers, new shoes clothes & bags.
    2. We crossed the 100kms mark (700kms down & 100kms to go)
    3. Crossing the 100km mark means we are now in double digit territory with only 4 walking days to go !!

Seeing all the newcomers and there clean clothes, small bags and jolly smiles was hard at first, just like they said it would be, but we are all here to do our Camino our way so no judgement just a challenging moment to overcome.

Well another big day tomorrow, but we are just getting so close now, I can feel the excitement of the end!!

  • Day 32. Palas de Rei

    October 6, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

Well we are getting so close now!!!!!!

Today was the first rainy day and it was amazing, so beautiful. After walking early in the morning and watching the world wake up, seeing the rain freshen up our surrounding was beautiful.

But we arrived cold, wet and tired. We shower and rested and now time for some blue cheese macaroni before a movie in bed to end the day.

  • Day 33. Ribadiso

    October 7, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Wow. Our last big walk day today, the last to are a little shorter than today's 30kms!

But today's learn for me. When you stop to decide if you face the new challenge or turn around and go back the way you came. Always take the new challenge, no matter how hard that challenge is, how long it will take or fearful you are. Because if you turn back you will be no more successful than you already are. Take that new challenge because no matter how long it takes you, you will do it, you will finish and you will be successful!

Time to rest for me now, with only 2x days to go I need to soak up every moment.

    Buen Camino xxx

Today we passed the 20km mark and amazing feeling knowing only one day left till we reach Santiago! Trust me my body is feeling every bit of the last 34 day (780kms).

Many know that I suggested that the proclaimers 500miles was my theme song well today I saw the sign that it was the right decision!! "I will walk 500 miles".

Well until tomorrow and my numerous posts to celebrate the completion of this adventure, Buen Camino xxx
