After our sightseeing it was so hot we had to stop to quench our thirst of Course! The boys tried the local beers and the girls tried the local drink done with wine and fruit. (Sangrina) Yummy. Could be another bad habit. Then back on the train back to Malaga. The boys got sucked into buying heaps of nuts and dried fruit to munch on the trip home. Graham spent 35.00 and John spent 25.00. Oh well....it will last for a while.Read more

25th August 2017.

This is one of those days when I should have stayed in bed.
Graham and I decided to take a bus from Malaga to see the rock of Gibraltar. Arrived there after 2.5 hours.
To go over to Gibraltar you need your passport as it is British territory.
Guess who forgot to take the passports.? ?? Guess who was not a happy Chappy??
So Graham has booked a bus to go tomorrow. Guess who is not going with him??
I took photos of the rock so I don't need to see it again. Might go to the beach instead or do some shopping therapy.Read more

Today we set off for another adventure to Mijas. We were very adventureos and took public train for half an hour then took bus to top of the hill where the town is situated in the Mijas ranges. Absolutely lovely place. Most of the buildings are white. Great views. A bit of a haze in the distance.Read more

After all the walking we of course had to rest and eat and drink again. With the great views in the background.
Dad didn't go to Gibraltar today as he planned. We decided to come here instead. Good choice.
All is forgiven. He bought me a nice blue bracelet cause he liked the colour and he said it would suit me. He said he still loves me as he knew I felt bad about him missing out on seeing that Rock!Read more

27th August 2017.
Today is our last day in Malaga so we thought we should at least have a look around here. This has been a great base to take tiki tours from. Malaga is OK. We hopped on the ^hop on hop off^ bus to look around. Went to see La Alcazaba ( The Muslim citadel) and the Gibralfaro castle situated high in the hills.Read more

Next on our stop was to see the Picasso museum which was closed today unfortunately (Sunday ) or fortunately in my case as I am not a Picasso fan. Went to see where he lived and see some of his works. Not my cup of tea but Graham likes his works so he bought a book. More weight in our luggage. Not allowed to take photos so nothing much to show here. Also lots of nice parks in the city centre.Read more

28th August 2017.
Today we left Malaga and hopped on a train to Serville. It was a nice 2.5 hour trip. It actually rained as we were leaving Malaga. This is good as the countryside is real dry. Arrived at 2 in the afternoon and did a quick tour down to the river where they had a turret called Torre del Oro. Then we went past a bull ring called Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza. After that we headed to the main plaza and around to the Cathedral y Giralda. Huge church with lovely sphires.Read more

We are only here for a full day today then off to Oporto early tomorrow morning.
Did more shopping and sightseeing here in Serville. Had to post another box of goodies back to NZ.

More pictures of Serville. Went to the gardens in the main centre . Not many flowers about. A bit disappointed.
But the grass verges in the middle of the road put on a beautiful display especially of the bougainvillea and how they were gathered by the steel trellis. Erica can you ask Graham to make you a couple of smaller versions. They look bloody great.Read more

29th August 2017.
Today we got up early and flew to Lisbon. From there we got a train to Oporto. It's great being a pensioner as all our tickets are half price or less. Only 18euro for the 3 hour train ride. Ainsley had to pay 38euro for her ticket. He He!
Our studio apartment is on the old side and we look over the main walkway. My first impression of Oporto is yuk.
It looks depressed and old when we were being driven to our hotel. The city centre is busy but nothing Flash!Read more
