    Portugal / Lisbon

    06th September 2017.
    Today is our last day in Portugal. We leave for Dublin in the morning. Farewell beautiful weather. Hello cold weather.
    Today Graham and I spent the day at the beach. Ainsley is not well so she is taking it easy. Got aching hips and sore feet. Caught the Metro and train up the coast to Cascais. What a great spot. Restaurants and cafes right on the beach. Nice and hot but the water was cold but I still went for 3 swims. Atlantic ocean is cold but people were still swimming. Why Not! No photos as I did not take my iPad.
    Bugger the sightseeing! Graham would rather have gone sightseeing. So sweet!    Read more

    7th September 2017.
    Arrived in Dublin this afternoon. A bit cloudy and cold. Not too bad. Had a quick walk around to see what was around.
    Went to The Temple Bar where there are Irish pubs and music. Had a drink of course.

    Friday 8th September 2017.
    Photos of sights we saw as we were walking to see The Irish Emigration Museum. Never knew there were rivers running though Dublin. Lovely bridges over the River Liffey. One of the bridges looks like a harp. Lovely avenue of trees with brown leaves heralding autumn. Would be pretty in summer.Read more

    10th September 2017.
    Today we Left Dublin to go driving around south Ireland. Weather is wet,cold and real windy!
    Heading towards Killarney so we can do ^The Ring of Kerry^. This is a scenic tour around south Ireland.
    Loved Killarney. Pity we couldn't stay longer. Found a real friendly pub. Then we were referred to a great restaurant where we meet some real friendly Germans. (Which is unusual). Graham bought 2 CDS from an Irish basker. He was a real laugh and picked on Donald Trump.    Read more

    11th September 2017.
    More views along The Ring of Kerry. Headed right to the bottom of Ireland to Cahirsiveen where we got off the track and went to the waters edge and found the local Inn which is famous for its smoked salmon. Yummy!
    It was so rainy and windy we nearly got blown Away! Brrrrrr
    Nice scenery.....but to me it looks like NZ at winter Time!    Read more

    12th September 2017.
    Today we are cruising back towards Dublin. Going to visitTipperary. (That song.....It's a long way to Tipperary it's a long way to go). Fine in the morning then rained the rest of the day. Poor Ainsley did all the driving....very stressful but she handled it well. Thank goodness for Tom Tom. Then I stuffed up the accommodation for the night. I thought I had booked a hotel in Ashbourne in Ireland but I had booked it in Ashbourne in the UK. What a nightmare when we got there. Raining ,getting late and no accommodation in Dublin or around it as there was the Red Chili concert on and Google conference and Ryan Air was on Strike! Managed to find a room in one hotel for John and Ainsley 30 minutes from the airport and we stayed at another hotel. So finally settled about 9pm had a quick feed and into bed as we had to be up at 3.30am to return the rental and get to the airport by 5am!
    So far it's rained every day in Ireland and all day on our last day. Not in a rush to come back here!    Read more

    13th September and 2013.
    Today we got up at 3.30am to catch the 8am flight to Toronto. We flew 4.5 hours from Dublin to St John's which is the east coast of Canada. Then caught an internal flight to Toronto for 2.5 hours with a 2 hour stop in between. Jeff collected us from the airport. Nice and sunny. Lovely place...like a park surrounding! They have got squirrels,raccoons running around their grounds.Read more

    Had an awesome day today. Went to the Niagara Falls. Such a powerful force of water and we had such beautiful weather today. Tried to capture the different views of the falls.

    After the falls we meet Jeff and Maria's friend Dan. A wine connisour who recommended this vineyard for lunch and great wine. Well the food was different and the wine was real yummy. Actually drank some red wine and liked it. I am usually a white wine drinker. Bloody expensive! After that we went wine tasting but I didn't like any of them.Read more

    Wine tasting....didn't like any of them. Probable had too many real nice wines by then.
    The first vineyard was called Stratus Vineyard and we tasted their whites . The second Vinyard was called Colaneri and we tasted their reds....Yuk!Read more

    A beautiful sunset on Lake Ontario. Graham and Ainsley dipped their feet in the water. They reakon the water was surprisingly warm.
