Afternoon visit to Mar Menor - Lo Pagan and Pilar de La Horadada. Very quiet - not that many people about.
Day 22 - Ikea visit

Set off early to arrive at IKEA Murcia as it opened at 10:00. Took an hour to get there cross country. Bought a table and 4 chairs which we put together in the late afternoon. Lunch was at the EmeraldЧитать далее
Day 23 - in search of the salt lake

Afternoon cycle trip to the south-west edge of the salt lake - tried in 3 places but couldn’t quite get to it - either too muddy out the path fizzled out.
Day 24 - playa flamenca

Cloudy start to day but sun came out in the afternoon so we cycled over to playa flamenca for some Sangria

Dull day so drove to Cartagena - this humongous ship over 300m long and weighing 132,500 tonnes was in dock. There was a car show in progress - see next footprints.

Sunday morning market to buy some stuff to bring home e.g. Olives. Had a portion of churros. After that went for a walk by the La Mata salt lake. Very hot - 29C

Cloudy morning but brightened up by lunchtime then quite hot and humid (27C). Bank holiday (All Saints) so shops were shut. Had lunch at the Irish bar. Afternoon spent sorting out the flat. EveningЧитать далее
Day 28 - drive to Girona

Day 29 - drive from Girona to Orleans

500 mile drive-fabulous motorway from med coast through Massif Central to Orleans. Finally got to go over the Millau Viaduct 17 years after it opened
