Patterdale 'picture postcard' Paradise

Onwards and upwards, a steady climb up the valley led us to Grisedale Hause and over the saddle through Hause Gap. Once over the other side we hiked on a short way with an arctic head wind against us. We took a little break at Hard Rock Cafe (sitting on some rocks) in some shelter for tea and danish's beside the dark Grisedale Tarn. To our right was the majestic St Sunday Crag in all her glory but no takers to join me for the challenge so down the valley we trooped following Grisedale Beck, a glacial stream of crystal clear water. There are heaps of streams flowing down the paths and springing from the mountains. Into another lush gorgeous valley, picture postcard, with Belted Galaway cattle and the traditional stone fences. Oak, maple and pine plantations bordering the track and beck (stream/river). Arrived in early about 4ish. Another lovely B & B which all are run spot on and so organised with our full breakfasts, packed lunches and country meals at night. We have been well looked after with plenty of food. They run a tight ship. Only thing is u need to always carry your suitcase up numerous flights of stairs and around about 5 corners.
Again today about 4 American FA18 super hornet jets flew over, such a loud roaring sound bellowing in the skies.
Weather fine, sunshine and cloudy. Good going. 👍
