Fine day leaving Richmond in warm conditions following along the Swale River again. Leaving stone fences and wooden squeeze gates behind civilisation has arrived with cropping and barbed wire fences and metal gates. Some sections of black muddy paths underfoot, thankfully no slippery dips onto bums. Road walks with high hedges and lots of farms with large barns for housing cattle and in the yards large piles of smelly used hay. Called in to send a prayer and enjoy a coffee and flapjack at the St Marys Church at Bolton on Swale. Heaven.
Arrived at The White Swan Inn staying in a quaint little room with Chicken Pie and Ales for tea. Evening stroll around a friendly little village. Found campers ground, tuck shop and Church dating back to 1067 where the English soldiers sharpened their swords on the Church walls while resting before the Battle of Standards against the Scottish in 1138.
