Oh to Osmotherley

Beautiful warm summers day here today. Began out well leaving the small village of DW soon to hit some slippery black boggy mud, slipping and a sliding along the narrow lanway. Clever to start with clean boots, 3 inches of mud later, haha. Similar to yesterday along farm roads of the large cattle farms and crops and some squealing piggeries. Eek, so much ham. Passing through beautiful villages and small contained english flowering gardens. Small pitstop at stile offering chocolate bars and soft drink using honesty box, to skirt cropping fields to the Truck Stop for a very ordinary coffee (crap coffee in UK). Dodged speeding traffic on freeway to continue on to then cross a railway line. Overhead military jets in sight with also a 4 jetstream seen in the sky.
Zigzag climb up a dirt road with a large stone home and beautiful English trees to amazing views stretching out over the patterned valley. Our Lady Chapel set in the woods before diverting into Osmotherley. A lovely village staying at Queen Catherine Hotel.もっと詳しく
